Hi guys.

I've just started using a 4000mah Duralite battery with 5.3 Volt regulator on my Raptor 50 and just want to see if it sounds like I'm getting the right performance out of it. As it's one of the redundant packs, I'm just trying to make sure that both pairs of cells are functioning. I was actually hoping for more flights before charging- but wiggly amps are not really my thing...

Heres what I get (doing 10-12 minute flights);

Pre Flight readings !
------- No load / 1 Amp
Flight 1 - 8.15 / 7.60
Flight 2 - 8.04 / 7.50
Flight 3 - 7.99 / 7.44
Flight 4 - 7.84 / 7.30
Flight 5 - 7.72 / 7.18
Flight 6 - 7.61 / 7.06

I use digital servos all around - and with my old battery set-up I used to put in about 400 to 450 milliamps after each flight using my fast charger.

What do you think then? Normal performance, or only half the pack working?

Cheers,

Q. At what Voltage should I quit flying?
A. Stop fly voltage on a 7.4 volt pack is 6.9 volts measured with a one amp loadmeasured through the black lead or 7.1 volts with a one amp load measured through the yellow lead.

You may have a questionable pack.
I sporadically discharge mine on a Triton charger to 6.9V and compare the mAh pulled after a full charge. So far mine all dischrge at 4600 mAh on 4400mAh packs.

Pack seems to be OK. I fly the packs down to 6.9 to 6.8 volts with a 1 amp load. You start being in the best part of the charge when your in the 7.2 to 7.0 volt range with a 1 amp load. The voltage will stay in that range for 3 or 4 flights from my experience. I get approx 10-12 flights with all digitals. The flight times are approx 11-13 mins each.
I have done another flight when the battery reads 6.9 volts with 1 amp load. No problems. Then checking the voltage after that flight, sometimes it still reads 6.9, sometimes 6.8

Yep same as DavidH I've flown all weekend, 8 to 10 flights total and its still around 7.1 or 7.2volts w/ 1am load.

Something you may want to check is disconnect each rod at the servo and make sure your linkages are smooth, no binding etc, you may need to take a sizer to some of your links, that will make it look like the battery is being worn down faster.

Same results as the others, I can get between 11 and 14 flights off of my 4k and I run all HS digital all the way around.

Thanks Guys.

I'm still getting 6 to 7 flights after checking all of my links carefully for tightness or binding. My GY611's tail servo seems a little harder to move than the one on my Stratus (with power off) so I'll take it apart tonight and see if there's too much grease in there or something. The tail control rod linkage itself is silky smooth though.

My servos are JR DS8411's by the way. I'm not sure if there are particularly thirsty servos?

Does 450 ma's per flight sound a bit much?
