Everyone's so damn happy lately this seems the perfect time to list what drives you nuts about our beloved heli hobby.
I'll start.:)
Remote glow plug adaptors. For plankers only? Seriously, what is up with the L-shaped boot? Works great for lawn mowers and plank motors where the plug sticks out of the head, but with our deep heatsinks a STRAIGHT boot would make so much more sense.
ReadyHeli. You know 'em, you love 'em. But why is it when you DON'T have the cash they've got scads of that particular item you've been lusting over, and the second you get flush they've sold out!:arggg:
Woodies VS Carbon Fiber blades. Slap on a pair of woodies, I'm good for at least 10 flights before my next crash. Install CF blades and the damn thing tips over on lift-off.:thinking
Speaking of crashes. Amazing how when you're out all by yourself you are a freakin' heli GOD, able to pull off all kinds of stunts you've never been able to do before. But the second you get an audience, you revert to noob level and crash 2 minutes into the first pack. Probably destroying those brand new CF blades at the same time.
Weather. I don't enjoy the luxury of being able to fly any time I want. I have to plan for it. So in those rare cases where I have some free time I make sure my birds are set-up correctly, that everything's tightened and lubed, etc etc, waiting for the one day off I have to go screw around. I don't care if it's the middle of August and they've predicted 90 degree weather for the next 2 months, it WILL snow, rain, or tornados will touch down at my flying field.
I have more, but I have to go to work. In 8 inches of snow. In 20 degree temps. On Christmas eve.
Bah humbug.
