I give up on my Logo 14, well I gonna switch UBEC and see, thats the last thing.

Some of you have seen all my range-testing, now, my L14 has _really_ good range, but when I hover about 20 feet up, and turn nose in I loose control, every time, first the servo's stop working, then if I wait long enough ,the motor will go into failsafe.

If I turn the heli (with the little control you get once in a while) ,its back to normal instantly.

If I land and do a nose-in range check at the same spot I get 65+ meters range without any issue with the antenna collapsed.

If I fly nose in even at a range of 30 meters, I loose control.

Only thing I can think of to test is to bring the heli up on the roof of my house and do a range-check when its up high.

Good lord, never heard of this, what is going on over in Sweden? Top Secret nuclear testing or what?!!!! Man I feel bad for you Mel, we can only hope the problem is something to appear and that it ends up being an easy cheap one! Arg :arggg: , I feel bad for you dude. :?

Damn, I can even see the antenna with my bare eyes at that distance, but nooo, those small signals seems to get lost on the way...

Im up for the new XFS products as soon as they are released, thats for sure.

Hardest part is when you dont really know how to replicate it, If I can get really bad range when the heli is on the roof, fine, then I can fix it, but taking it out flying and hoping you will recover, thats just mean :arggg:

Yea better to hold onto it while it is all in one peice I respect that for sure Mel, too much money at risk. None the less I swear you have had the worst luck I have ever known of and I surely know as well as others how hard you have fought this battle, still doesen't make sense to me why it is happening to you. Keep us updated and again,,,, sorry you have to deal with this extremely odd event. :(

Mmm, tell me about it.

My logo 10 is the total opposite, I even managed to cut off the antenna midflight and still had no issues with it...

Gave it one more shot, changed channel, changed bec, went out flying.

First battery was a perfect ride, did mostly nose-in flight with no issues.

Second battery I got a full PCM lockout after 5 minutes, but that could actually be because of the tail belt ESD, because when I changed bec I forgot the grounding cable... crossing my fingers and hope this is solved.

Hi Fredrik,

Sorry to read about all the problems you have with our L14! I have great radio range on mine so I know it is possible :dontknow

There was a post on the norwegian 3D forum some time ago about the military using some of our frequencies in sweeden and denmark - just a wild guess, but you could at lest check it out:

Grounding the boom didnt help :( went out again, and got a lockout, saved the heli, again.. phew.

:arggg:

I guess its either external interference or something very very strange going on.
I mean, Im flying very far away for 5 minutes without problem, then all of the sudden I get a lockout when the heli maybe 60 meters away from me.

Oh well, I guess I just have to wait for the XFS products to be released.

Gonna take my L10 with me next time and set it to the same channel and give it a go.

Dude, do you have some pictures of the heli with wire and antenna routing ?

Well hey Mel if it makes you feel better, I totalled one of my Logo 14s today, almost a writeoff in fact, lol.

What happened?

Long story short just training into doing Chaos, lost abit of orientation, managed to save it actually then oddly enough in the distance I was apparently I ran it into the only dam pole there was in the entire area, was a freak thing, none the less it impacted enough to sent the main shaft back into the tail boom, ripped landing gear straight off the frame, and damage so far from what I can see is well over $400 for sure. I was not too upset only weirded out how far I was away from myself as it didn't seem to be that far, it was bound to happen sooner or later so I will fix and move on. I actually ended up replacing most everything with parts I have on hand, but there are a few things I ran out of and do not have and will have to wait. Anyhoooo babbling on, $hit happens........

Lucky that rebuilding is part of the fun :)

I actually think that I managed to get my L14 all sorted out now, got another 20 minutes flight time with no hint what so ever of glitches.

Crossing fingers.

What did you do to fix Mel?

MrMel

I was chasing more then one issue, which misled me, when I actually fixed one thing, I still had issues, which was from another source, so I thought "that was not it" and was back at square one.

First, there is some interference on the field I am flying at.
Second, Receiver was too sensitive.
Third, I extended the cables to the UBEC so I could fit it underneath the heli.
Graphite spray on the belt, grounded the boom, better tension on the belt.

How I managed to fix it:
I fixed everything on the third point (which I had messed with numerous times), and still had glitches.
But then I got tired of driving to my normal field and went to another, where I didnt have any glitches.

So I changed channel and went back to my normal field, was better but still one glitch per flight or so, then I changed receiver, and have been flying since.

Just pure luck that I tried another field.

This was a real bastard to figure out.

Just a quick hint, don't use graphite spray on the belt or it will tear :arggg:

"Super O' Lube", made by Parker, in my opinion is the best stuff you can put on the belt imho, it prevents the static buildup, as well it prolongs the life of the belt greatly.
