Hi

I've been using these batteries in my 500 and been very happy with their performance and price.

That are fine.. light weight but low flight times.... hard core 3D pilots need those!.. but I prefer heavier weight with long flight times... and if you are a rookie you might too. I get 7.5 minutes at 100% ilde up with these bad boys!

The cost $20 or so more.. but the extra few minutes is worth it to me.. and the 500 has so much power.. I can't really tell the difference in weight... although I don't do hard core stuff.. just loops, rolls, funnels etc.

the price really isnta factor so ..how about the kit i posted above...i see there is a new motor for the 500 which kit has all the good stuff included..or like a said just part it all out to make it a super nice bird..but being a rookie i am sure one of the nicer kits will be fine .i just have no clue what to get....

You might try Flying-Hobby for your 500 kit. I just bought a 500 esp here for $625 with everything except the rx. They have the new 500M motor and upgraded frame. I bought a AR6200 from Helidirect to complete my package.

I thought it was a good enough deal to buy one.

It is designed to take a 6s but you can strap two 3s's together and use a special "Y" connector to run them. But I've read where you get better performance with the 6s.

I could be wrong because I don't have mine yet, but that's what I've read.

I'm thinking of taking off the gryo/tail servo off my 450 clone then sell it. Then take the $$ and put it towards the KX017008A kit with the listed above lipo as long as it fits. Hopefully all I would have to do is lower the tray. But the reasons why I want a 500 is for longer flight times, easier to see since its larger, and stability hopefully like a 600.
