I keep chipping/breaking Upper blades on a CX, but its not from crashing... that flybar counter weight keeps coming off and dangling by the linkage. I thought that might be doing it, but it looks like it can not reach the end of the blades by hangin from the flybar linkage...

I bent my fly bar a few good times before and straightend it almost 95% perfect last night and i few it around awsome last night, like 10-15 miniutes without landing, just hovering and doing different moves...

I just went threw my 2nd pack of upper blades in a week!

5 min ago, it broke my top mainshaft to! either have to get a replacement or that aluminum one though, but i dont think the aluminum one pops off when you mess up/crash.

SO whats going on!! getting pi$$ed lol

WHat should i DOOO

I would suggest getting the aluminum one. When I bought my CX the guy that sold me mine sold me the aluminum one along with extra blades. I broke the plastic one within a week and have been using the aluminum one with out incident for 3 months.

You can also damage the blade tips by moving the stick too fast. The upper and lower blades can hit each other. I've watched mine fall out of the sky several times because of that and I had to replace the upper blades.

Ok, now what i think of it, i remember making a fast movement and having it hit. If you think about it, there is really no way for the flybar to hit it because it is rotating with the upper blade.

Does the flybar have to be crucially straight? I know with getting the aluminum main shaft, the fly bar will not pop off in a crash... looks like i better not crash eh?

OK I had same problem . beleive it or not the top blade is hitting stabilizer. Cut 1/2- 3/4 off both ends and rebend. I know this doest seem possibal but I would hsve never thought a trex blade could hit its boom either.

A way to look at this logically is this : blades are breaking, so they are hiting something. almost always top blade breaks ,not both. Top blade is hitting stabilizer.

But the flybar is rotating with the top blade... so it must only be happening when teh flybar coms off and is dangling by the flybar linkage... So getting the blue aluminum upgrade that keeps the flybar on would solve this? anyone???....

I Had this and it did not help . The blades and bar are actully flexing this much at high speeds , the upgrades are nice tho  I had this silly thing drop out of the sky at 40` up, and land on grass ! eeeek!

Crikey! I'm getting a Lama for my boys Christmas pressie - its the same contrarotating set-up as the Blade CX - so is it also likely to get Blade stikes like the CX? Maybe I should shorten its stabilizer by 3/4 inch, straight out of the box?

I would try it first . Anyway blades are cheap. Have fun!!!
