View Full Version : Lepton owners need some dimensions????
Hi Guys,
Can somebody please let me know the battery compartment dimensions?
I'd really like to get a Lepton but I need to know first if my packs will fit in the battery tray.
Thanks,

This is what I came up with when I measured mine
50mm wide, 37mm tall, 150mm long

You can always make the opening wider than 50mm by added washers to the sides of the metal braces in the front.
what packs?
Evos 5s 4350.
My problem is height, the 4350's are 39mm

probably too big. the 5S 3700's are just about as big as you would want to go.
They are a snug fit in the frames and any heavier and you would be adding a lot of tail weight to balance.

You can also remove the saquare battery trays to allow several more mm's of space. Those 4350's will fit with this mod.

The weight difference between the 5s 3700 and 4350 is 2.4 oz , If I can make'em fit removing the batt. tray , Do you think there will be a CG issue with the added 2.4oz up front???

I already had to shift my esc way back to get the cg right with the 3700's.
If you are using smal servos(I use 9650's),light esc, ect. It should not be too hard to balance.
Guys,
Now that I know that I can make it work with light servos and removing the batt. tray , What's the best 5s setup , Motor and pinion??
For esc I'll be using a Jazz.

The A30-12XL works very well with the stock 24t pinion. Be sure to get the version with the fan installed.
Thanks a lot, I have to admit that I'm not a micro guy but I really like this one , it's like a Mini Eagle :D
