Alright guys, I have a 30 and a 70. I just bought a Raptor 50 and have not received it yet. What are some of your opinions on this heli?? I bought the 50 Hyper engine for it. Is there a noticable difference from the 30? I use my 30 to try and learn some 3D but it does not seem to have the power if your collective control is not that great, can't bail out quickly. Will the 50 give me the edge I am looking for? I know the 70 has power to spare but I am leary of pushing that thing to my limits and having to repair it verses the 30 or even a 50. Does it have the power or response that I see in my 70 heli??

I have not flown a 30, 70, or a 50 with a 50 Hyper. My 50 has a TT, but since nobody has chimed in I'll give my 2c.

The 50SE with a Hyper 50 should easily have more power:weight than your 70 and will put the 30 to shame. I have a feeling you'll be wanting to drop a 90 engine in your 70 after you feel how the 50SE flies.

I have it built and have had several flights. This thing with the Hyper 50 is a rocketship!!! I have never flown anything that has been able to get it like this thing. I am not use to the light weight paddles though, that will take some getting use to.

I have a Titan with Hyper 50 . It was flying well but , I broke the piston ring last weekend . I couldn't realize the cause that breaks the ring .

Watch out for the SE head rocking on the shaft.

Another member here in the AP forum recently ordered the SE head as an upgrade (the one with the button on top). His shaft rocks as bad as, if not worse than, the stock plastic head he bought it to replace.

I, on the other hand, ordered the PV0484 (I think) metal head block w/o button. This head grips the shaft so tight I'd almost (ALMOST) be willing to try flying without the upper jesus bolt. Engine vibrations may loosen things up which is why I wouldn't try it, but I had the bolt in while mounting the head, and afterwards I removed the jesus bolt and gave several hard pulls and couldn't budge the block on the shaft - jesus bolt slipped in as easily as it came out.

Whether these parts are different or Mark got a defective head, I don't know. I do know that someone else at my field told me there w as a 'good' TT metal head that would clamp on properly and a 'bad' head and I clearly got the good one.

It's no kasama, but I'm not worried about it working loose or shearing a JB if it can take 10+ Gs of pull on the head without putting any pull on the jesus bolt or linkages...

I have the Raptor 50 SE with OS 50 hyper. It has plenty of power, takes off like a bottle rocket (minus the loud pop :) ).

As far as the head problem Teej mentioned: the Phase adjusting ring clamped it down real nice, infact I cant remove the head without loosening the ring.
