Shortening Flybar on My CX

I've heard several folks mention the advantages of shortening the flybar on the Blade CX to prevent upper blade strikes but I'm sure E-Flite carefully calculated the proper lenght for this component and there must be some negative trade-offs created by making this modification. What are they?

I would only do this if you are breaking top blades. Down side I guess is a tad less stability, but not much.
