Is there an another option to flying to Atlanta GA and then rent a car and drive for another 2 hours or so to get there?

Atlanta is the closest major airport. The Atlanta airport is on the south side of Atlanta. So all you will have to do is get on I-75 south right at the airport and head down to Mac's.

David is correct. Delta runs connector flights throughout south Ga but they will not get you any closer to Macs. Your best bet is to fly into ATL and then rent a car and follow David's Excellent directions to get to Macs!

I did nearly 1100 miles getting to The North East Extreme event in September. 300 miles to Augusta, GA. Then get in truck with Clintstone and another 770 to New Jersey. Got there Friday around noon after driving all night Thursday. Loaded up early Sunday and headed home. Got home about 11PM Sunday night. Just do it <G>

I was goin to say "peice of cake" till you mentioned Clintstone!

Must have been a trip from Hell!!!

It was a piece of cake for Clint. He slept while I drove. That 26 foot travel trailer pulls well at 85 mph <G>. And Clint has that diesel set up to pull it that those speeds . Only problem is with a 50 gallon diesel tank in the bed of the truck. Need to carry a jug to take a leak. Stops are few when you can go over 600 miles between fill ups <G>

Haha the La Clinta Inn pulls well at 85? My dad and I were on our way to Moultrie, GA for the Ag Expo with a U-Haul behind us doin 95. :smokin:

grrrrrr. 990miles....... How I wish it was only 99miles instead of 990. :( It may be high priced but you could look into a charter flight to Souther Field in Americus, Ga. It's only a couple of miles from Mac's!

Maybe I missed it, Golf Carts?

DavidH
10-25-2006, 10:53 AM
If you have a golf cart you can bring it. But remember, Mac's place is a premier flying faciltiy. The runway is manicured grass. I would only advise to use a golf cart when needed to get back and forth to a flying station. But really the stations are not going to be that far away.
For the people that have never been to Hodges. Your in for a real experience. Please respect the facility and take great care with it. Mac is a great person and has put a lot of work and expense into making the facility what it is.

Don't throw down cigarette butts or they are likely to end up back in your car if the window is down.
