Well ladies, my Swift heli is pretty wankered - tail boom, tail gear box, swash washout lever, blades, fly bar, landing gear, etc.
:bawl

Side in hover, piroet to other side, oops stops at nose in, beautiful arch straight into the ground - guess who was flying it at the time - hubby mechanic!!!! Not me!!! Thank god he can fix it!! That's the nature of the beast.
:DOH

Actually had it all back together that evening except he wants to machine a new motor mount - he didn't like the old one and what better time to put in a new one then when it is all apart.

Ok Ok ladies...

Go easy on me,, I have to say that it was my first serious crash. And wow it was a major one at that.

Ok so some of you know that i crashed it, and she still keeps-um in one piece. Time for me to step it up a notch and over-come the dreaded crash scene... :arggg:

I have to say though--- She took it very well, I even thought that for a moment she was going to just say--- Well looks like I get another heli... But she actually jumped in and helped me get-r-dunn. She is trying to learn more of the mechanics and i love it.

Well I am sure I will hear from a few of you regarding this Wankering of the Swift...

Now I guess it is time to make it up to her in some way, shape or form..

I really envy the 2 of you. I think it is so great that you have a hobby that you both enjoy and can share. I am trying to get my wife interested, but not much luck so far. Could be she is almost 9 months pregnant though. Maybe after the baby comes, she will decide she needs to learn more and we can start doing this together. Keep flying you 2!

I love seeing another couple that's motivated about being in this hobby TOGETHER!

I think you guys and us are the only real *active* couples flying helis right now. I sure hope more join the scene.

I always hate hearing about how the wife usually just likes to go shopping while her husband is out at the flying field. They are missing out on so much precious time together!

Kudos to you guys!

If I went to the flying field by myself--- Phewww, I would not hear the end of it.. If i go, she definitely has to go flying as well...

Don't tell anyone-- But i think she is addicted to helis...

Hi all,

I'm chuckling here, I have the opposite problem. I'm into heli's and he's into cars (real ones)

I'm working on him though, I got him a nitro monster truck and he's having a ball with it.

He actually showed interest in heli's the other day, thinking he should maybe learn to fly one of my FP's this winter.... whoo hooo!!

Cheers,
Leslie

oh yeah, I did drive his truck into a tree last weekend.... oops :arggg:

'Wanker the Heli'!!!!!!!!   Interesting use of the vernacular. I know there are certain differences between our uses of the English language thankfully we know most of them. Just don't tell anyone from UK that you've wanked a helicopter - you'll get some strange looks of disgust and total disbelief...............

I think it takes someone really coordinated or just truly dedicated to the helicopters. Unfortunately I would rather go to the event in the camper with my son, and..........Yup, QUILT! It sure does give me a thrill though to hear the Helis in the background. :?

Glad to hear you and the wife are flying together, or at least going to be flying together. I have no regrets, the wife(kjfly)and I sure are having fun with it. maybe we should be progressing faster -- but hey, we will get there someday. Hope we get to meet up sometime at a fly-in or show.

Kjfly, glad that you were ok about the crash....I think it's good that partners can share the same interests....
My partner done my blades in more than i did & he's flown for a few years.....
But she still flies great, tuff little heli......
