Hey Guys,
I'm replacing bearings in my OS 50 Hyper. I ( MR. Know it all) disassembeled the engine without marking the piston orientation. :arggg: Is there anyway reinstalling the piston without knowing the orientation it was in when I pulled it? :bomb: Would really appreciate some fast feedback. Thanks in advance, Curt.

Usually there is an arrow on top of the piston. The arrow will point towards the exhaust port. If there is not an arrow. You want the gap in the ring to run in a place in the liner where there is no ports in the path of the gap. The piston ring gap fits over a pin that is in the groove of the piston. This prevents the ring from turning.Looking at the piston from the top. The gap in the ring usually goes about the 10 oclock position. This would be with the liner in the crankcase and the nose of the crankcase pointed to the right looking from the top.

Doesn't the Hyper have a cutout on one side of the piston skirt to clear the crank?
