I was planning on using this motor for a 4s setup with the 24t pinion. But it sounds like maybe its to fast to run efficiently. Should i opt for 3s instead? I heard mixed opinions.

It will work fine on 4s or 3s. best performance will be on 4s.
What type of flying are you doing?

basic to moderate 3d ...and beyond. I would prefer going the 4s route. I just heard people say if they had to do it over they would get the 12T. I know running too low of a throttle curve can damage the esc.
Do you have any experience with the 10T? Does it run very hot on 4s with the 24T pinion and are the resulting throttle settings effecting your esc?

I ran that motor and it ROCKS on 4S... no worries but understand that your Tcurve max will be about 85%..... If we had a 23 or 22T pinion this motor would get OPTIMAL performance but dont look at this as an issue... the 3025-10 is a great combo on 4S!
