I just finished installing an SZ engine in my stratus. I noticed the gap is a little on the big side. I've heard lots of people complaining about having a small gap. I used the washer provided by the engine. I haven't flown it yet. The gap might change once it's airborne; I am hoping. What do you guys think?

For the lack of a better word, the Stratus is rather flexible in that the top section sort of floats a little in relation to the lower section. If you've used new clutch dampers they are probably preventing the clutch driver from seating all the way down. Push down hard on the top section in the area of the start shaft and the clutch driver should seat properly. If that doesn't work and there is no other problem the clutch driver will seat when you start the helicopter.

The gap should be in the .020 to .030 range. Have you measured it? As Bob said above, the gap will decrease when the heli is started usually.
