the Airfoil issue is soon to be resolved. John and I both have come to agree that it looks like a 3rd party set this up to get at the both of us.
It was a brilliant plan and well executed. Whoever did it will have to explain it to God one day.
For many many months I have spent countless hours in R&D/design/Testing. I always posted my results. I became a very public person. Many people know me and know what I do in regards to AP/AV. I guess it's a price I paid for being public. I put myself at risk and someone has taken advantage of it.
I have asked Will to remove me as moderator. I no longer wish to hold the responsibilty. I lay myself on the line and what I get in return is a nasty setup that nearly cost me $8,000. People who I thought were my friends are not. I get used for my knowledge and get stick in the rear for it.
No... I am done with that responsibility. Someone else may take the torch. I no longer wish to have it burning so close to me.

Yes, please, what happened? The more people that know, the more minds you have working on getting to the bottom of it. Please elaborate. I really hope you stick around as your shared knowledge is very helpful to us newbies, best of luck in which ever direction you decide to go- Enigma

I saw the posts before they were deleted. Here is what it looked like to me. Please note, I am just an avid follower of the forums starting out with a Trex AP ship, and not a customer of either party....
DJ received an unexpected parcel from Airfoil and his CC was charged almost $8000 "non-refundable". It looked like Airfoil had screwed him.
Airfoil had apparently received what appeared to be an order from DJ.
It now appears that a 3rd party set both of them up.
That's my take on things

How unfortunate this all is. With all the valuable info DJ has provided someone needs to pull this crap.
DJ
Do what you've got to do. I'm sure we'll all stand behind your decision but will hope you can get past this and keep providing us with the great help and info. The world has way more good people than scumbags! Stick around. :D

When you put a target on yourself by getting out there and public, sometimes you bear the brunt of the negative attention and haters. Thank you and we are VERY sorry to see what you are going through DJ, that sucks. If you fade away, who wins?
Since DJ has decided he is no longer interested in manning this forum, if anyone is interested please PM me.

Big shoes to fill! I've often wondered when DJ slept. Seems to have so many things going and yet time enough to share with us. :noteworthy

fellas,
yesterday and today have been hard days for me. Been on the phone non-stop with many people, agencies, etc etc.
This morning I woke up and all was going to hell. Thank God I made a few more calls to a few more people and things have started to turn for the better. Hopefully by this time tomorrow this ordeal will all be over.
Will I'm sorry for dropping this on you so quickly and with nearly zero warning but I can't be treated the way I was.
Guys..... give me time to let all this settle. I'm not going away for eternity but the one thing I am doing is toning down. My days of questioning the practices of other "forum" owners and thier advertisers are done. The negativity feeds on itself and I gain nothing for it.
Let me take a break for a short while. I'm headed to Amsterdam next week for a much needed getaway. When I return and this is all behind me I will be back.
I'm sponsored by FlightPower and I have an obligation to not go away. I need to be public about my progress and such but I'll be reorganizing and handling it in a new manner.
Be patient with me and things will all get back to normal. I promise.

VERY glad to hear you are growing wiser DJ.
There are many here who have learned that you HAVE to let go or the negativity will overwhelm you and take over you. It is not an easy lesson, and I am glad that you are to the point of focusing on the positive and what you have, not getting drawn in and distracted.

He Enigma,
Actually Amsterdam is one of the few cities in the Netherlands that have these signs.
You have to be lucky to spot one however, they are very popular among the tourists  .

DJ if its any consolation, I just took my very first AP shots! This forum I have to thank first becasue it was what drew me to you, but your advice, kindness, and infinite wisdom on helis and AP have made this hobby extremely enjoyable.
I understand needing a break (wife and 2 year old) take some time and relax man!
I look forward to your return and if there is anything you need besides money, new cars, a new home, etc... let me know. :D

Sad, but true. I've even experienced a bit of it myself.
Sorry to hear everything's gone the way it has DJ, but this too shall pass. You'll be okay. (That's meant as encouragement, not blowing-off.)

Wow, I missed all this. I'm so sorry you got screwed by these vultures. Hopefully you'll get it all sorted out soon. Karma will get this tool, in the end.
I too love Amsterdam. I used to do some engineering consulting work for Fokker Aircraft and I would spend about 6 weeks at a time over there and then come home for a month. It was a great time and I still have a ton of friends there. It is one of the greatest cities in the world to visit, and I've been pretty much everywhere. Anyway, you'll have a blast and will hopefully come back with your batteries fully recharged. :)
