I think the newest version of that tuned muffler for helis is a solid mount and Bergen is selling it.
I could be wrong, but that was the info I heard.
The one that Bergen is selling regardless is a FANTASTIC tuned Muffler. It really juices up a 231 IMO.
I have a fellow flyer here that has it installed on his Intrepid Gasser and it is very nice.
I am going to pick on up for my "Gas-X" when it gets here. :D

The Bergen unit is very nice, but You may want to consider the Hatori that MA is going to be selling. I have not heard when, but I have seen proven goo dresults with it and it is very quiet to boot.

I have a Bergen Muffler. Larry Burgen is still working on some issues with them. ( I talk to him on a monthly basis it seems) They work great, as long as they hold together. The next generation (it will be the 3rd) sounds like a keeper. It is not really a tuned pipe, but more a good muffler.

So far the best one I have used on my super gasser is one a friend built for me. On the other one with a stock G23, the old mini muffler (can) was my favorite. Quiet.

I'll be looking for the Hatori! It can't cost as much as the Hanson

What has come apart on the Bergen tuned muffler?
My buddy doesn't have much time on his so I want to fill him in on things to watch.
His is a one piece muffler and unless the welds are breaking I don't see any other places to come apart.

If it is a first generation, listen for the baffle to get loose inside. If you shake it, and it rattles, the baffle is loose.

The second generation tend to break at the mounting flange.

The third, because of a different problem, have a different loose baffle problem.

The forth are VERY new and there are only a couple out there. The Flange is fixed, and the baffle should not get loose. He is having supply problems for some of the parts on this generation, and it looks like it may be a while before they are avaible to us.

They all look mostly the same from the outside, just some minor differences and work great, when they stay in one piece.
