hey everyone i have a few more questions here,

i am going to be running 3700 5s1p evo 20's with the Hacker motor and the hacker 77 i think esc.

the blades i have are 710mm sab 160gram lightweight and also using std gearing that comes with the ion, i am wondering what headspeed can i use with this girl with this setup and could it handle a bit of a beating.?

also what do you guys think of the 5000 5s2p evo 20's in the ion or is that setup more for a f3c kind of setup?

what sort of flight times would i be looking at etc.

thanks,
Maionx- matty

by the way,

with the ion, do i need to ground out the esc i think it is??... using a one of the battery leads to the esc?

what gauge wire do we use here? or is it normal small wire?

Cheers,
matt

I'd change those 710 for 690's.

You don't need to ground the boom cuz the Ion uses a TT and there's no static discharge like with the belts.

Your H/S should be about 2k and flight times will depend on your flying style 5minutes with those batt. is the std.

The parasitic drag on 710's vs. 690's at the headspeeds we fly on e-helis really sucks quite a bit more juice. I'm one of the non-3d guys. I get 6:30 minutes safely with evo 20 3700's 5s1p on my two stager with Hacker motor doing FAI/F3C type stuff. This is at about 1900 rpm on 680's on a Tempest head that puts the blade tips out where 690's would be on a stock head. It still has insane power reserves. It will climb out like a rocket!
