Hello,

Hears the whole story. Iv searched but couldnt find anything that worked for me.
My setup:

Walker 36B
Metal tail
Metal head
2200mah 10c
Futaba 240 Gyro
180l Brushless walkera motor 3200KV
DX6 Spectra radio with the servos installed (with DX6 servos installed)
Align 35amp ESC/2v BEC

I was flying fine about 1 week or so ago (just hovering) Then in mid air I start to spin out of control. Tail gear got striped for one reason or another. I bring it down and order parts. Why I was at it I ordered the DX6 and the Align ESC. Get all the parts put them all back in. Tail is not slipping set everything up. 0 pitch at 50% so that the pitch is equal up and down. Basicaly I set it up the way I had it prior to the random spining. The control is in normal mode and the serveros were all set and adjusted to 90% (I apprciate this forum for all the info iv gained from it).

Go to fly it this morning. And the tail at 25% thr and up spins wickedly to the right. I counter, then with the slightest counter it goes wickedly to the left. So I mess with the gyro gain. No results. Switch the gyro over to rev and spins to the left starting off. Counter right and it goes out of control in that direction. Im lost. searched search and searched again. And I dont know if Im missing somthing. I cheak all gears. So slipping at all. VBUt I cant get this tail under control. But then again Iv never has a controller that was programable. Maby something is goofed up? When I get it spun up if I keep pushing it it hovers straight up and down, but sping out of control. Up and down is very responsive. But this tail is killing me.

Any info would be great! I would luv to get this thing in the air.

Thank you,

Phyro

I would look at the tail servo if everything else is set up correctly.sounds like it might be "sticking"

:D  :D Dude ! Lokks like you all ready for A Trex , u just need the MG servos! Ya Too much gain , or its binding some where. Hmmmm ... I would Carefully read the futaba gyro maual . Im guessing the awnser is somwhere in there

When I look back at it, I siad, Ill do it cheaper the first time around. Nope I should have bought a rex and been done with it. But Im guuna move my whole frame over the the v2 of the 3dX-400. This guy did it hear( http://forum.modelisme.com/t65541-df36-origine-ultima-debut-des-transformations.html ) so I would imagine I could do the same. Got the parts on the way. I kind like tinkering with it. But Iv put so much sim time in, and I can make a Lama2 v3 (I know they are easy fliers) wiz around like nothing in full control. So I would imaging Im good to start the hoving with this bigger one. But I can never get it to work. :(

Had it work a few time, but then this whole tail gear thing happened and poof.

I hit the revers switch on the gyro and it will only keep swinging nose left now. Full right will stop it for only a moment. Not unless im overlooking something in the DX6 manual. But Iv been through this so many times. Depressed. changed the tail servo over to a HS-81MG plenty of power in that one. And no binding. Turned the gyro down to 0 and worked up. No happy point. :( One thing I noticed is that The tail on the "original setup" (controller and all) As the RMPS go up the tail servo would slowly ajust on its own to compansate. With all the new stuff the tail just stays were it origianly was.

Appreciate all the info so far!

:)

No fix yet :(

hmmmmm... On the spektrum I had to reverse the gyro, so I needed to set gyro travel to -51% to get heading hold to kick in. Its a futaba 401 (also heading hold like yours) The red light on gyro will not blink if heading hold is on. If your gyro is not reverse , set grro to+51% TRV , and I think u gots it._Roger_

Hayhay I did the negative -51% and the tail stoped going nuts. But I spun left and right when increasing and decreasing throtle. I found an option on the controller called Rev Mix up/down. Had to do 7 on the up and 5 on the down, and the tail hold nice and tight, and I got to play around and hover with two batterys today it was great!

Thanks you!

Whoa there, if you have a heading hold gyro you should disable Revo mixing.

I know revo mixing is enabled with 7 on the up and 5 on the down and the tail holds great. This controller just confused the heck out of me but response and options now that Im learning are great. As said in other forums. "Vival la revolution" :) to spectrum radios.

Like kenneth said......with a heading hold gyro...(I have the same futaba GY240 you have)......DISABLE....I repeat...DISABLE revo mixing on your transmitter...ya know...your controller....the thing you hold in your hands with the sticks to fly yer heli...hehehe.....disable revo mix and just try it......it HAS to work perfectly. If not your gyro may be bad....but I'd bet'cha 99% that disabling the revo mix will REALLY give you a tight tail.....just disable revo mix and make sure yer gyro (the ACVS little switch.. the one on the left...is set to the "on" position.....if it spins....flip the other little switch on the right to reverse your gyro.....or set it to normal...depending on what u have it now)

PLEASE just try it....nothing to lose......as you can always re-enable revo mix and set to 7 up and 5 down......so nothing to lose.....but a super tight rock solid tail to gain!!!

Ill give that a try if i have a clear weekend and see if I get any better results then I alreay do. Like ya said I know the revup-down number so that would not be hard to retry. Ill double cheak my ACVS switch (Is on) and turn rev up/down mix off.

As soon as work breaks and a get good shot with weather Ill post my results :)

Thanks,

Phyro

Edit: Would it matter that I have the gyro mounted in the nose? http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=3587809
