Ordered a Tango 45-07 and Jazz 55 ESC, going to run it in the stock configuration on a FlightPower EVO 20 10s1p 3700 first then maybe stretch it to run 600mm blades later maybe.
Upgrades are the metal motor mount, new tail hub and metal WO Base. Is that all I need in the way of upgrades?
REALLY looking forward to flying this BEAST. It will be built by none other than Finless Bob!! :)

Yep, your good to go.
I run 12T with that setup, and I like it really good.
Is finless doing a video series on it ?
It's a very nice, very light heli.

your gonna love it.
i'm running a actro 24-4,with a 32.55, on 10s evo 20 3700.
with the same upgrades as you except i stretched the boom and run 600
blades (it was less expencive to buy the boom and belt than another set of blades) and it is truly a beast. mine is the old version with out the long lever rotorhead, but i can't tell where it needs it. i bet it will put a big smile on your face when you fly it! :D

No unfortunately Finless is NOT going to be doing a video on it. He can only do videos on helis he keeps because he cannot answer peoples questions about it after the videos are available if he does not keep the heli. I am trying to get a heli for him to do the build with adnn keep, however I have not been successful yet. I know someone asked on Finless's behalf before and was turned down from Aeromodels.
Hopefully soon. Finless is the one who wants to build this heli, he is heli build crazed or something, and says he feels bad if he is not building something. ;)
Hopefully we can get a L14 for Finless to make a build video with soon!! It would be AWESOME to get one with the new Flybarless head and garb, but......

  Good choice Will  I would also pick the hard dampeners for the head and fly the washout base stock. I have no problems with mine on 3 helis and even the stratus has a plastic one ... 12t pinion should be fine.

Thank you for the info Danny!! I prefer the plastic on MA and TT machines as well because the metal wear out so fast and get a lot of play fast using high E-Headspeeds. Thank you for the info, I am very excited about flying the L14! :)
Get the CF tailcase or better yet the Nennos aluminium tail case and pulley.
I had a 14 with the exact same setup but with 600's and loved it.

YYYYYEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! :clappp Will, awesome man!!! Woot you will have alot of fun with this heli for sure Will. No worries about a video, if you ever have any questions just ask, and if need I can give anyone here a number to call, I have built and rebuilt enough of these to know darn near everything and no manual needed no more for me, lol.
Imho you definetely need the aluminum motor mount so good choice there, secondly the washout which is part #M0973 is needed as the stock one is plastic with no brass insert and is insufficient imho, "runs and hides from Danny, lol" . That is all you NEED, however there are very nice things you can add, not many but a few. The first choice of add ons imho would be the open tailcase, either Mikados or Nennos, that way you can easily check belt tension as well do a good pre filght inspection on the belt regularly. Keep us informed of your new heli Will!!

There is no problem checking the belt tension with the standard gearbox, just take a screwdriver or the smallest finger you can provide and feel the tension in the front gear section..

You will love this heli Will, and finless, the build is a blast. I think I built all my logos by just looking at the pictures, and the fitting is superb.
I agree about the alu washout, I built a beater logo 10 and was going to run it stock, but after feeling the friction on the washout, (and a few other things), I got the upgrade.
I can't believe Mikado doesn't include that on the more expensive helis. Anyway, I love my 14, It is so smoothe.... :D

Will, you are flying WAY to many heli's.....lol (just kidding)
Your wife is probably trying to figure out how to introduce you to the *12 step* program for addiction...hehe!! I know because I have the habit bad, and LOVE building new heli's. I figure every man should be consumed with a hobby, makes the wife/GF want to spend time with ya. My GF loves to come flying with me, and, she even helps me carry stuff!
Good luck with the logo, it is a great heli, and the tolerences on the different fittings/bolts, frame, bearings, etc., is unbelievably good. A nice kit that logo 14, (carbon fiber), yes it is! :D

I am really looking forward to flying the Logo 14. I have wanted one badly since I first saw Jon Jennings fly his years ago. I am SOOOO Excited!!!

Was wondering if one of you L14 experts could answer some questions,
I have been in the market and waiting for the Razor - but after watching the L14 fly - its seem like a potential candidate over the Razor - looks like a better power to weight ratio and very quick - could someone help me with a few questions,
1. What is the most potent motor and battery combo.
2. What kind of flight times could i expect.
3. It seems you can run this with one pack, maybe 6S and not 10S like the Razor
4. What upgrades are required with the L14 - every heli. sometimes needs a few things which i see on the Mikado threads.
5. What ESC is the best - do you run on Gov. or just curves
6. What blades are people running - both main and tail.
7. anything negative about this heli.
8. Are parts readily available,
Any help would be appreciated, as I am in the market for a new eheli. for aggressive 3D,
Thank you,
JH

I will try my part in answering what I can based on what I know and my opinion, others will jump in and correct me or add as needed, lol. :thumbsup2:
1. Potent Motor = Dannys crazy Actro 24-3 motor, or Hacker A50-16S "10 Pole" on 17tooh , NEU 1912-1Y on 10 tooth, Tango 45-08 on 10 tooth, Tango 45-07 on 12 tooth, Orbit 30-12 on 15 tooth. Potent Lipo = Flightpower 10S1P in 3700mah fashion
2. If you are looking for some hard collective maneuvers and 3D expect a top performance for 5-5.5 mins.
3. 10S is the best, unlike the razor it is one Lipo not two 5S1P in series, one stick pack is what is required, anything less than 10S is not very 3D freindly imho.
4. Nothing is really needed, seriously. I personally however suggest the aluminum motor mount, and a aluminum washout with brass insert for minimum things to get. :)
5. Jazz Kontronik 55-10-32 is the ultimate esc for the Logo 14, governor mode is awesome!
6. These all work, not in order of preference but what I have tried.
Mains = 570 Rotortech razor Pros, 580mm MS Composites, 580 Mikado BBTs, 600mm V-Blades, 600mm Thunder Tiger, 600mm Radix. Note the 600mm blades require you use a Logo 20 boom and belt. Tail = 85mm NHP, 90mm MAH, 92mm Radix, 95mm V-Blades
7. Nothing it is my favourite machine out of anything I have flown, which is why I have a few of them and sold all my nitros! :)
8. Yes parts are available throughout several vendors in the world.
Conclusion: Buy it, you will love it, and you will never regret it after the first time you fly it you will then understand.
Welcome to the club

great, thanks so much for the info. - after considering the Razor and also the Trex 600 - the L14 in the videos truly looks the best bang for buck performance - none of the other Ehelis. look like they can get thrown around like that - also on one lipo, not two in parallel and also the heli. looks to have better performance - most likely regarding the weight,
Thanks again,
oh, how much do those 10S packs go for?
Great info.!!!!
