The first batch of fans is done. I know I promised these a while ago but I had to scrap a batch because I had something set wrong on the mill. If you have already PMed me then you will get first dibs. The fan is CNC machined Delrin and includes qty. (3) M2.6x10 cap screws. The price is $14 shipped in the USA. PM me for the Paypal address.

See Finless test the fan HERE (http://www.helifreak.com/viewtopic.php?t=18333).

Tail rotor pushrod guides for the Lepton are also available HERE (http://www.helifreak.com/viewtopic.php?t=17753).

Just to add.... If you order the fan I highly suggest getting the push rod guides as well... Get the longer ones so you can put a ball on the tail slider control arm thus getting rid of the clevis.

I just recieved my fan a couple days ago and I got to say it was worth every penny! Thanks Chris for such a great product! You have awesome machining skills and the fan fits perfectly, a nice solid friction fit. I just had a test flight and I was seeing around a 20F drop in temps! I gotta highly recommend this to all Hyperion 3025-XX users, especially those who run the 10T.

I just got my fan as well from Chris - installed in seconds - flew it and also had a similar drop in temp. - that is going to translate into a longer motor lifespan, which saves some $$$
Thanks again,
Jeff

Wow, thanks guys. Response has been overwhelming. Initial stock has sold out. Looks like I'll be machining all weekend. :D If you have Paypaled me already then yours will ship on Monday morning after a weekend of catching up.

I flew another flight today with the fan - I may be wrong - but I also feel the battery and ESC were cooler as well,
I didn't have my temp. guage, but seemed cooler to touch now that the fan is on the motor - I guess lower temp. on motor is also easier on the ESC and batt. as well,
I will be interested to see if it affects how much MAH I put back into the battery, will report back,

Jeff, I'm no electrical engineer but I did find this. http://regentsprep.org/Regents/physics/phys03/bresist/default.htm
The resistance of a hot wire is higher than the resistance of a cold wire so a colder motor should be more efficient. Let us know what you find out.

Anybody tried that one ? http://www.aircraft-world.com/shopexd.asp?id=4424 already ? Seems to have a cooling fan, but according to Aircraft-Japan, they're not selling the fan separately ... :?

That's a nice looking motor. The top is shorter so it won't hang out the bottom like Z series. I wonder if it will be available in the USA.

yeah, and according to the site, they especially mention Lepton for it (unlike the Z, which as you say is probably more for airplanes). Looks like as I ordered too early !
