New guy, Parrich_ reported over at RR regarding the calibration tool being on the 12Z. I've received confirmation that the calibration tool for the 12Zs is already included with the radios and can be initiated by creating a file on a CompactFlash card, call it T12ZTEST.ini.

I don't have a 12Z to test it myself, but he indicated that you should place the following text in the file:

Execute T12Z Test Program
The portion in the 12Z software checking for this file doesn't seem to look into it, just that it exists, so if someone tests can you please try it with an EMPTY file as well and report back here. The code also checks for another file, T12ZSETRX.ini, but at this point it's purpose is not known.

Be extremely careful with the calibration tool!!!!!!

IT WORKED!!! however i had to download a program called '.INI Master' or there could be another way to create the .ini file, .INI master was my way of going about it.

BIG THANKS TO RCFAN AND PARRICH!

Cool. A bit of an overkill (as you didn't need to get a separate app to create the file), but you seem to have achieved the same results.

All that was needed was a FILE (not folder) called T12ZTEST.ini on the root (top level) of the CompactFlash card. You could have used Notepad or Wordpad to create it as long as you made sure the resulting file had the .INI extension (as opposed to .TXT or some other thing).

What did you put in the file? Did you try it with an empty file?
