I got a chance to go out at lunchtime and fly the EB after my last crash. It was a little windy but for Indiana it wasn't bad. :D I got to use the new tach I bought and I was surprised to see that the throttle curve was pretty good. At half throttle, 0 pitch I was at 1420, at hover around 5 degrees it was 1520-1540. Full pull out it dropped to 1500, but man did it climb. My friend had trouble keeping it in sight to get a good reading. Flying around it stayed between 1520 and 1540. It seems really stable at those head speeds and the engine seems to be running smooth. I couldn't sense any vibration anywhere. Even the canopy edge by the muffler was solid as a rock. :clappp .
I'm heading to Lexington KY this weekend and in between my daughter riding in a horse show I hope to find good weather and an open field! Now all I have to do is get my knees to stop shaking when I'm flying the bird around

welcome back. Just take it easy now. No hurry to learn. Don't attempt stuff that is out of your realm, until you feel really ready to try it. That's my rule for myself.

On my way home from work I stopped at my flying field and decided to get a couple of flights in. Beautiful day out there. I did a preflight, range check and after three pulls the G26 was purring. I warm it up a bit before lift off. There I am doing three point hovers and BAM out of nowhere the engine quits. :WOW Auto at eight feet. Nope can't do that :arggg: Boom strike :bomb: Now I get a chance to repair the tail boom, torque tubes, tail rotor (snapped shaft perfectly at bearing), get a new slider (because mine left the county) and oh yeah did I mention blades AGAIN. I pulled the spark plug and it is black from high oil content. I guess it decided that too much oil would make it too hard for it to work.

Well I guess I'll talk to Chris about converting to a standard boom and go to 710s with a new pinion to save money on crashes. I think he ought to start a frequent crashers club and I can be on the gold program.

Next step....Practice autos.

I've got a R50 too. Do you practice autos with that? I bought the Raptor just to practice for saving the Bergen :D If you can auto your raptor well, you'll do great with the EB. They have great hang time.

Unfortunately, I have not progressed to autos very well yet. I have practiced on the sim, but I suck. I couldn't get a good auto if my life or cash depended on it. I guess this is the next skill I acquire.

Autos on an Intrepid Gasser are insanely easy. I had an engine failure at about 15 feet or so and had never done an auto in my life. I simply dropped the collective a bit, then smoothly pushed it to the top about three feet off the ground. Smoooooooth. :)

Mine was from 50-75 feet engine out with camera. Customer didn't know it was not intentional. I've noted that it seems to have too much hang sometimes. Doesn't seem to 'want' to land :D

Definately start doing autos with that rappy and it'll be a breeze with the EB
