I have a CNC dual mount on a blinged out BCP but never quite figured out why the second motor was designed to set on top of the housing. Just always looks awkward and does place the tail assy's CG over the tail main shaft. During the assembly of a heli out of left over parts, I decided to put together a dual mount with the second motor underslung. The idea of scarfing two plastic housings together is not new but I think this is a more practical approach to the over the top or out the back method. It was easy to make and gets the second motor lower, out of the way and just plain looks better, to me anyway. Just thought I would pass this along for anyone planning a dual mod to consider.

looks good , I have the aluminum dual tail mount they sell at heli hobby ( not the best site ) . I really like the look of it , and the idea of a dual motor mount . however in practice i found that having 2 motor back there made the heli too tail heavy , so in the interests of keeping weight down I go with just one motor on the dual motor mount . I havnt had problem with this and have over 30 flights on this one motor.

I hear ya! It is heavy but the plastic is somewhat lighter than the CNC rig too.
