Question Am I making a mistake?

The only Heli I have gotten off the ground and flown semi successfully is the MsR. I have a new Blade 400 that has not left the ground yet. So far I have replaced all the servos, ESC, and gyro. I am now in the process of putting the whole thing in a scale MD500D from HeliArtist. Is this a mistake? Should I learn to fly the Blade 400 without the MD500 fuse or would it be more stable with it?

You are going to need to use more / less ailo on your turns with scale. I have noticed the on my OH-6 Loach in a trex 500 that I need to use a little to get it in a turn and then use a little opposite to keep it going. It likes to drop on turns.

Haha. I understand what you are doing, but I think you should have got off the ground with the stock 400 for a bit. Just in case the inevitable crash happens, your fuse will be a simple stock 400 canopy and the stock stuff as opposed to a heli you put tons of work into. Going from an MSR to a 400 is quite the undertaking. Not that it can't be done without crashing, but your heart will be pounding and you will avoid trying new things in fear of ruining your sweet heli.

I find that when I have ample crash parts in my supplies for a particular heli, I grow some big youknowwhats and I am more likely to try new things to improve my skills. Example: I had a lot of inventory in 400 parts, so I went and had a blast with the thing for a few weeks, then crashed it and used most of the parts. Now that money is tight until next week...I stay tail in and low most of the time haha.

Default scale building

I agree on my trex450 I flew that for about a month and got it setup correctly then I put my airwolf body on by Heliartist--then you have to reset your balance and maybe adjust some pitch and trottle speed for the added wieght. That's all apart of the fun of the scale hobby but its worth it. deffenitly get it flying first, I would hate to see you going through all that work and crashing the new fuse up into little pieces.
good luck !

Thanks for your replies and concerns, I will put the B400 together with the new electronics and fly it naked first, the Heli, not me.
