I saw a COOL bergen fly last night. It is a hybrid of a normal gasser with the industrial twin tail. The motor is a g23 modified to accept a g260RC cyl.
The tail box is HUGE!! 1" bevel gears, with long tail blades. Main blades are NHP 800s.
We had to put about 2 lbs of led in the nose to get it balanced, but that is where the electronics for our little venture will go, so the led will not stay.
Once we got the 603 carb tweaked, it flew GREAT. Just like every Bergen I have flown. Very smooth and precise. The special motor pulled very well. Not as good a power to weight ratio as a normal gasser, but strong enough to take it up at a good clip.
The size of this thing is very impressive. I hope to get some pictures up soon.
Only Bergen would be able to what we have done. make a great big heli with good, solid mechanics, fly like a dream, and carry a big load.
