I am looking to take my Canon 10D up for a shoot on Sun. I am wondernig what kind of settings I should have for the best sucess. Speed?, ISO?, Ect...
I will be using either the 18-55 lens or a 19-35. Which would you suggest?

The speed of the lens is probably more important than the focal length. ISO also depends on the lighting that day and what vibration you will have. Sometimes I find that using the automatic setting will provide the best results when conditions are changing fast.

Once you find a shutter speed you like you may want to leave it on shutter priority and let the camera work the other settings out.

On our Rebel XT, we've had good success with just setting the ISO to 100 and putting the camera in Program Mode. On the last couple of shoots, I've used ISO 200 and set it to Aperture priority at 7.1. I set the AF mode to “One Shot” and the metering mode to “Center-weighted Average metering”.
We’ve experimented with setting the focal length from 17 to 25, depending on the subject.
We shoot RAW + JPG. The jpg files make it easy to browse the shots and open the ones that seem to be the best. Shooting RAW allows you to change the exposure, white balance, and correct for chromatic aberration (you probably already know this…)
