Hey guys, I'm having a strange issue with one of my AR7000's. When I place the transmitter right next to, or inches away from the RX, the lights on either the main unit or the satelite go out. I can pick which one goes out by pointing the TX antenna on my 9303 beside either one.

I've also tried the same process on my AR7100R with the same results, but only with the satelite light going off. It doesn't seem to effect my 6100E on my 450 though.

Anyone else ever try this or have any similar issues? Thanks for the help.

Don't put the TX right next to it.
RTFM...

(it gets swamped with signal)

Well obviously, but is that still normal to happen?

Normal??? Possible... yes.

There are a few things at play...

One is the radiation or propogation pattern of the TX antenna. You can be so close as to be in a "null" or dead zone.

Another related issue is differences in the near and far fields of the radiation source.

It is also possible you are de-sensing the Rx being so close.

If it is repeatable then you should be fine, just avoid the situation.

If you need more assurance do a range check to help determine all is well.

I checked it against my Spektrum units, as well as some other ones. Seems to do it to them all.

Thanks for the replies fella's.
