There is very little difference in the two machines and they have been well documented on this and other forums.

Starting with the V2 because it's the oldest I'll list most of the differences.

The V2 has push pull on roll cyclic only while the Titan has push pull on roll cyclic, pitch cyclic, and collective. The V2 is upgradeable to this.

The V2 has it's tail rotor servo mounted on the front servo frame and the Titan has it's tail rotor servo mounted on the rear of the main frame. The V2 is upgradeable to this.

The Titan has a longer tail boom and belt to accommodate 620mm blades. The V2 is upgradeable to this.

The Titan has an improved clutch bell. The V2 is upgradeable to this.

The Titan has a front canopy stabilizer bar which can also be fitted to the V2.

The tail boom, tail boom supports, and landing gear skids are a "titanium" color.

The Titan does not come with the carbon fiber base plate which is standard with the V2.

In the North American market the V2 comes with both wood and carbon fiber blades. The Titan has only wood blades.

The canopy stickers are different.

Ace, the North American distributor, is still listing the V2 on their dealer's web site but it is not in stock so unless you can find one at a dealer you may have to wait to get a V2.

Your question about setup is too general, but I'll give it a shot. You asked for the best setup and that would include in my humble opinion a Futaba 14 MZ with the G3 receiver, whatever the most expensive servos are, a Futaba 611 gyro with 9256 servo, OS 50 Hyper engine, V blades, Duralite LiIon battery system with an Arizona Heli regulator and a Kasama head.

As you can see the above will run you enough to buy about six other Raptors. Of the above stuff that I've mentioned as the best the only things I have are the engine and the Kasama head. I use a JR9303 with Hitec digital servos, a Futaba 401 with 9254 servo, third generation NiMh battery, Thunder Tiger 600mm blades. I have seen lots of Raptors flown better than I can fly mine, but I've never seen a Raptor that will turn inside mine no matter how much money is thrown at it.

I hope this helps.

this is basically the setup i've been priceing on a couple different site to see who has it cheaper. not including the head, i'll get that later but you pretty much named everything, JR9303, 401, hitec servos, ect so how does your fly and what would you get different if you could?

also so pretty much what your saying is that the V2 is upgradeable to titan status and that the titan just comes with all this already.

I wouldn't do anything different on my Raptors or I would do it. I put the Kasama head on because I got tired of changing stock heads when they get loose on the main shaft. The heli flies the same with the Kasama head as it does with the stock head as long as the stock head is tight. You can buy a lot of stock heads for the price of one Kasama. BTW the head block is the only part I have. I have nothing against adding bling to a machine, but I'm just not into it unless it improves the heli.

Yes, all the Titan parts will fit on a V2. You may have to get a new servo tray to fit the pull-pull mechanism, but I'm not sure about that.

Would the carbon fiber base plate (V2) be a good item to pick up and install in the Titan?

Half of us that fly the v2 dont bother putting it on, you have to grind it to fit a hyper and it makes dropping the engine a bit more of a chore with it on there and its benefits are debateable.

other different items
The 50SE has the metal head vs plastic and the metal washout base vs plastic white paddles vs black if you are asking about the raptor 50SE vs. Raptor 50 Titan

Which would you purchase? If the SE, what from a Titan upgrade kit would be worth putting on the SE?

Tough question to answer. I'll ask you one before I answer, please.
What are you flying now.

Right now I am wobbling around the air  with a TREX SE and have been hovering my MA 1004 SE. The MA took a healthy crash. :arggg: I am fixing it for later but want something larger than the TREX and cheaper to repair than the MA.

TrexSE nice, Well if you are wobbling and that's not a new 3d trick :D , The titan is a nice heli. You can start with this and progress with upgrades if you desire. The raptor SE comes with a few upgrades, however at this stage the extras most likley will not help. I would suggest carbon blades and tail blades. The titan comes with woodies and plastic tail blades not bad, but the carbon adds a nice look and stiffness. It's your choice to add the extras when you are ready for the jump to 3d or if you like upgrades as most do, add at any time. Sorry to hear about your MA x-cell.
good luck

Thanks for the advice and kind words about the X-cell.
If it flies its gonna crash!

I am going to work at trading my current stock of Helis for a Raptor Titan. I added up the cost of what I have in the TREX and it is over 1300$ That's not counting the TX as I am going to keep that.

I will trade it with everything but the TX for a Titan kit with OS 50 hyper. That will save some lucky person about $600.00.
