Anyone know what the OS 8 nut size is on the threads

1/4-32 (extra fine thread and a major pain to find taps and stuff for)

Go to www.mscdirect.com, search for taps and select thread size 1/4-32.

You will not find a 1/4-32 tap at your hardware store.
