Play in bearings

I am rebuilding a Stratus I bought 2nd hand and have just pulled the clutch stack out so that I can change the pinion for the new ratio I am going to be running. I have noticed that where the clutch driver goes through the tempeststyle lower bearing block that there is quite a lot of play althought the bearing still feels smooth. If i get the end of the clutch shaft I can rock it back and forth several mm and it feels like there may almost be a v slight amount of side to side movement however I cannot be certain (its that slight).

Is this normal?

Does anyone know the p/n for the bearing that is in this bearing block?

yes this is normal, it does it with my stratus, but once everything is bolted up its right. if you want to be real sure get another bearing and try in there. Might put you at ease with your new machine :mrgreen:
