View Full Version : Is anyone using 9255's on their Stratus?

I've got a set.

After a couple of gallons I noticed the aft servo got really tight, i.e. it is difficult to turn when powered off. The other two servos seem okay.

I figured I got a bum servo, so I replaced it.

Well... another couple of gallons later the new servo is in the same state as the first.

The added resistance doesn't seem to be putting any more of a draw on the battery. However, the aft servo lags behind slighty when I cycle the collective from stop to stop.

Anyone else?

Thanks!

I have run 9255s in both my Stratae from the day they were built with excellent results.

It would appear to be a more isolated problem. I have 40+ gallons split across two sets with zero issues and excellent geartrain wear.

Arghh!!

I don't think I'm doing anything unusual... 4 cell battery, no binding. The action of the bellcrank and swashplate disconnected from the servo is normal.

It is like the top of the servo is filled up with axle grease (it's not).

The servos came from a flight pack so they are all likely from the same batch. I suppose the chance of getting 2 bum servos is possible. I just find it unusual that both times it's with the aft CCPM servo.

Maybe it is just your luck =)

Swap servo positions in the machine and see what happens. Put the elevator on aileron and pitch on elevator, whatever you want just swap positions and see if the elevator servo gets stiffer than the rest of them.
