I have received my new ion, but problems already

Hey guys,

i received my ion yesterday, and i started the strip down stage of it just to check bearings and to give a good clean,

i have noticed one of the battery mounts are cracked behind the front section, and i was wondering should i do the 1 p battery mod with the 1 side or buy a new one??

another problem is the flat allen bolts on the battery mounts are slightly deformed, and are making it difficult to try and get out...

does anyone know what i could do here??

i forgot to add its a 2 stage, i don't think the battery clearing the 2nd gear is a problem

I would just clean up the battery mount crack and apply a bit of 30 min epoxy (and/or a bit of fg tape). Those battery mounting bolts are pretty soft (like the gears!). I've had a couple go round on me too.

By the way, thanks for noticing one of my ball links was a bit loose at our heli meet yesterday. When I got home I pulled it off and it slipped off pretty easily. Lucky it did not do this when I was flying it!

yeah tom, lol like i said i go over everyones machines all the time :mrgreen:

i got a better allen key for those bolts on the battery mounts but no good, all of them on the right side plate a stripped DAMN IT

Edit: just used dremel and grooved a whole in those pissy little bolts and i got them out, geez there was a tonne of loctite on them, i am going to use bigger bolt next time and put something over them so they don't rub on the battery.
