Hey,
just another question, i was wondering seeing as you run the 5 volt fans off the receiver, i was wondering is it ok to hook up the two fans onto the hacker bec.
Just wondering if its safe.. i think it would be Fine.
Cheers,
Matt,
The Hacker 77 esc does not have a bec. I guess you could run 2-5v fans through your Rx battery via the Rx but this may start to tax your rx battery a bit. I think I'd just start off by using the stock single 5v fan, behind the motor, blowing over the esc and sucking air from the motor.
Personally, I use 3-12v pc fans wired in series (so it's like a big 36v fan) and wire this into the hacker esc battery leads. I have a 50mm one blowing over the esc, a 50mm one in front of the motor, blowing on it, and a smaller 40mm fan mounted below the front gyro blowing into the canopy and over the batteries.
This is probably a little overkill. Also, when one fan fails (which it did yesterday) they all stop running. It took me a while to find out which one it was (front smaller one was the culprit). Replaced it today and all are blowing well again!
Cheers,
Tom C

Thanks tom, you are a bundle of information :D
Kudos Tom, its great to hear you found the problem with those fans, but even without them running your setup was running as cold as ice :glasses:
