Hey Bob,
I think you mentioned to me in a msg that there were a few more videos you just needed to compress for this heli? I'm expecting my motor, speed controller to show up this week and would love any more help you can give.
So far the heli is looking good and I can't wait to finish it and get it in the air!
Thanks!
Jev

I just got back from the IhobbyExpo in Chicago. I have pics of the Swift 550 and 620 Carbon SE models and the new alloy tail case. I will post them later this afternoon.

hi, Bob or anybody, i have an swift 16 helicopter kit but i dont want to spend more than $300 on electronics, what electronics would you recommend? I have an Spectrume DX6 but i dont know which motor or battery or esc amp would be right for the heli.
I hope its possible to get the those electronics for less than $300

Great vid on the head setup Bob, had mine back to bits and started from scratch. I had to cut the washout pins too, by about 4mm
Tail end next...

I have a swift helicopter kit and if i get an 4 cell battery what motor and esc would go good with it?
Also is the 4 cell battery too weak for the swift helicopter? Im trying to not get an 6s battery because of cost and i dont have a 6 cell battery charger.
THANKS to all who can help

mhouse974,
you would probably get a much better response and opinions of different setups if you pst the question in the Century Heli forum.

I have only flown mine on 6S and it was a very nice power setup! I am not sure how well this would do on 4S (probably not too well) but you might get by OK on 5S just dont expect a good 3D heli with the lower power.

Great videos as usual Bob, thanks!
I'm getting ready to install servos now, and wanted to see if this makes sense to Bob or anyone that knows.
I'm using the red x arms on hitec servos. I haven't been able to find a 21mm arm for the elevator servo yet. I guess I could order one, but I do have a 20mm on hand. So if I use the 12mm holes in the red x arm instead of the 13mm ones, I'll be reducing the throw by .5 mm (from the optimal 12.5mm) so the elevator arm becomes 20mm (down from the optimal 20.5mm)? It sounds right after watching the video, but I guess I don't understand the math/geometry of it. Does that really provide equal throws between cyclic and elevator, or is it just as close as can be expected? Granted, I don't NEED it to be perfect and I doubt it being off a bit is going to cause problems at my newbie skill level, I'm just curious.

The geometery of the Swift elevtor arm needs to be as accurate as possible our you will get interactions! e.g. the swash will move slightly in elevator from low pitch to high pitch. Not a good thing really... I did extensive fooling around with this before I shot that video and it really should to 20.5 for best results! .5mm one way or the other caused interactions that were noticable.

Thanks Bob. I think I'll look at drilling some custom holes. It's a shame Century didn't stick with more standard arms for this heli :arggg:

Cool, just in time as I'll probably be doing my electronics tonight. Thanks!
btw, the link is missing an "s". It's coming up as electronic.wmv instead of electronics.wmv

Bob, I am new to Helicopters and thanks to you and your movies, I was able to build a trex 450se and set up a dx6 radio and fly it without any other help!! I like it so much I ordered a 600CF and just purchased a JR 9303. I could use help with the radio. I can not find help setting it up for either heli on this site and the instructions read like greek! So if you could point me in the right direction. Also, I have managed to learn to hover very well. I can fly head in and inverted on the G3 very good as well, but am crapping in my pants to take that leap of faith. How do I do it?

Well I do know how to use a 9303 but unfortunatly I dont have one to do any vids on. Telling you how to set it up woul dbe HOURS of basically writing a manual. Your best bet is to go on ot the Trex forums and ask for help from other 9303 users and ask thier setups.

More added today :)
The metal motor mount upgrade has some things you need to deal with and is not a 100% replacement without some mods!

Just added the upgrade swash and washout mixer arms!
The upgrade swash plate has some change that are interesting. Shorter balls for the hiller system which as Adam Turner told me personally make the heli even better!
Watch the vid to learn more :)
