Is it necessary to run a Governor on a Stratus?

Thanks

I'm new to the heli thing, however I would say a Governor is a good thing on a nitro machine as it will help prevent the engine from reaching an over-rev situation.

Those sessions of high RPM can't be good on a motor. I just installed a Throttle Jockey Pro on my X-SPEC, am installing another one on my EVO 50, didn't initially have it installed as the engine was brand new, wanted to allow it to break in. Have just over a gallon so think it's ready for a Gov.

Happy flyin

it's not an absolute requirement, but it makes it easier to maintain a constant headspeed through manuevers.

Nope
Not using one, but might later.
I find the bigger engines to be easier to set the curves on to get a close to constant rpm.
Mind you, I also don't fly hard 3D

For flying hard 3D a govenor is recomended. Now I ahve seen people fly 3D without a govenor and if you play with the curves enough you can get it. So i guess its what is ur time worth. Cause with a govenor its set. The other downfall to not having a govenor is that when you crash you prety much have to start all over again.

I'll go through the install/calibration of a governor task before I'll ever do the throttle/pitch curve game again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are a $100 God send!!

Im completely with wayne. Not required but it does keep the head constant. I have been flying my Extreme with an SZ without my revmax enabled, it is on the heli though. Never had any bad overspeeding problems, mainly because I keep it loaded. I think im going to "enable" it tommorow and see how I like it. I might just take it off and sell it...
