Ive looked through my L14 to check it over (raining here, what do you do..)

Found the following issues... have questions about some of them.

- Main gear was missing a tooth, never felt it nor heard it.. oh well, replaced the main gear.

- There is play in the tail rotor shaft, I suspect the bearrings are moving inside the plastic (tailcase), should I glue them so they stay in place or should I let it be?
(ive checked bearrings and they are OK)

- Main shaft got dents from the one-way bearring, so removing to remove it I had to take it downwards (bearings was not going over the dents), sanded it down so I could re-fit it easy.. Normal?

Then a general question, can thrust bearrings go bad, do I need to check them over (except for applying more grease if needed?)

And another question, Thrust bearring between main and tail gear, should the smaller diameter be on top or bottom? normally you put the smaller outwards where the load is, is it the same for this? (smaller diameter on top?)

Hi

The play is normal, you can glue the bearings in if you like but its not necessary.
The bite marks from the one way are also normal, you can polish them away as you did.
Thrust bearings can go bad, but that takes a long time, I still use my first pair. And the last one, I never check the direction of the thrust race under the main gear, it works both sides.

Mel, the CF, open tail case is a nice upgrade. I can see everything in there, and there is no slop. I know it's not necessay, but after all you have put into that bird, (all your time), you deserve one!!.

As Dan said, the rest is normal,(and the way he flies he would know better than me )except my tail cases are always good and tight, no slop what so ever... Glad you finally got it all sorted out and ready to have some fun. I know how frustrating a glitch can be, working on one now on my trex 600,,,,,, :arggg:
