You've got me thinking something....
I had real bad glitching on mine when I first set it up. I put a choke on the lead from the ESC to the reciever and the glitch went away. I wonder if using another one on the gyro lead would help?
I have another one and I'll try it. Can't hurt, right??

Hehe, just hurted my understanding on what is a "choke". In my AIKIDO classes is kind of "giving a tie" on the opponent. On the ancient cars it is used to raise the acceleration. I canīt figure out what it is on this topic.
Not your blame (of course), itīs just my poo english :)

LOL! :D In this case, a "choke" is basically a magnet that absorbs radio interference. The ones I use are little rings that you loop the servo wires through. Others plug in line with the servo leads. Either way they do a very good job of reducing interfence conducted along the servo wires.
I think the CC25 must be very "noisy" because the glitching was so bad until I installed the choke on the ESC lead. I'm going to try it on the gyro and see if helps the tail wagging.

Hehehe, thanks for the english class! :D
Maybe I canīt find this choke here in Brasil, so , what about the tin foils?

Don't know. Never tried that.
If your hobby shop can get JR products, they should be able to get the chokes. Mine are made by JR. If not, maybe I can get some for you and send them to you.

Bimmer,
95% of the radios here are Futaba, so, thereīs no JR around. You think I can use
same of yours in my Futaba?
Talking ībout it: Iīve found a 1024 PCM 6ch from Futaba for 65 you think I can use
it on Shogun?

Yes, you can use the JR chokes on Futaba. There is nothing special about them that would prevent it. I'm sure that JR probably doesn't actually manufacture the things, anyway. They probably just get them somewhere. There is no reason why they couldn't be used with any brand of radio.
That receiver ought to work fine. The only thing you have to be careful of is the size and weight. You should try to avoid using a big and heavy reciever. If you have no choice, an option is to remove the plastic case. that will reduce the size and weight a little bit.

If you can send me, I can send you the money via PayPal?

Ok, sure! But PayPal is dead right now!
I will pick some up this weekend. I think they are about $10.

It's kind of working right now. I just received a payment that was sent over the weekend. I couldn't log in, though. But at least there are signs of life!

I have just received a WRONG motor for my Shogun, instead of a 4200, Iīve received a 4100 (2015-Himaxx of course) Is there any chance for me to use it on Shogun or Iīll have to sell it?

I'm afraid it won't work too well. The 4200 is a much better match. Sorry!

I've heard of people buying them new for $159. I paid $240 for mine! :arggg: But I had to have one and couldn't wait.
I see that there is an option now for bevel gears in the tail. If I hadn't already done the belt mod on mine, I would have ordered a set already. Now if they could just fix the input gear - or better yet, design it with a belt from the start.
Bevel gears...nothing like such sophistication has arrived yet in AUS (not surprising...we are 2 years behind everybody!!)
Where can I get them ??? - tail is the biggest weakness on the "ZAP" (Australian for :Shogun " !!)
Thanks...amphip

Still no cure for the input gear, however...

you guys can find a nice set of landing skids at helli hobbies (soory dont know the web site).
it cost me about $20, has two struts (for/aft) bent out of spring steel and the solid alluminium landing skids, they have a nice wide stance and the skids position can be adjusted .
im very happy with my set and it has taken some serious abuse note though it is obviously heavier

Cool! That looks really good. I wondered if the T-Rex gear would fit...

Does anyone know where I can get the assembly manual for the entire Zoom, not just the 90% assembled version? I am having trouble replacing the main shaft. Any help would be great!
Thanks,

Thanks for the quick response. I was looking for the Shogun Zoom 400 manual. If there is something similar to the Trex manual you provided that would be awesome!
Thanks again.

Oh, my mistake. Sorry! I don't know if there is a manual like that for the Shogun. To my knowledge, it is only available as an ARF.
What is the problem you are having? To get the main shaft out, you have to disconnect the links to the lower swashplate, loosen the two collars, and loosen the set screw in the pitch lever. It will then slide out the top. To get the pitch rod out of the center of the main shaft, you have to unscrew it from the black plastic slide block in the slot near the top of the shaft.

Hey guys,
Great stuff. My Shogun is on the way. I can't wait to try it out. A close friend has one and I really like it. All the info everyone has posted should make this a trouble free setup.
Thanks everyone for all the good advise

Davjac,
Here is a link to the Micro Star manual--same as Zoom/Shogun--and it has a section showing how to replace the main shaft.
