crashed twice today, first time was a bad roll way too close to the ground, no damage at all. second time was exiting a funnel and I got too far sideways and the battery was down and the tail just would't respond fast enough and I went in sideways from about 20 feet up, boom strike cut up the boom pretty bad, but its still in one piece. other than that I popped off a couple links on the head. Put the links back on and hovered for 30 seconds to make sure it was still ok. Dang thing just won't give up. Gonna put a new boom on tomorrow and go attempt more mild 3D.

Wow, nice. This gives me hope that I may not have to spend as much as I fear while getting good at the basic hover+.

Out of curiosity, how many 3 in 1’s have you burned out in your history? I am curious if I just had bad luck or if these are very fragile to the electronic pulses.

Thanks,

-Craig

Haven't burned out any, I have a Futaba TX so one of the first things I do is program throttle hold, any sign of an impact and I throw the switch. Also fun to Auto the CP from 2 feet off the ground, it lands fine, but the tail has no power so it piros all the way down. Not really an auto, more like a slower than a rock fall with alot of twist.

hmmm .. no damage eh , in my experience the BCP can be a real bitch in a crash . Im somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to running these things and I dont tolerate vibrations . stories people have of straightening main shafts and other such repairs are obviously not as discerning when it comes to post crash inspections . BCP is not that durable and crashing should be avoided at all costs . my T-REX holds up better and is cheaper to repair . also from the factory all parts in the body of the BCP are glued in , the heli needs to be practically destroyed to replace the main shaft main gear or the tail boom for the first time . very frustrating .

Steve:

i've found the main shaft gets wacked perttyeasily. However, the Blade will run with a less then perfectly straight shaft. The rest of the heli is pretty durable. The Canopy will go after a few shots. If you bust the boom, might as well get a new frame and boom, they don't cost much and it's easy to move the parts around.

Lee

The best thing to do with the blade is buy lots of extra parts. Put them in a box and take them with you every time you fly. It's a little known fact that you never break the parts you have on hand :D . I haven't replaced anything but main blades for months. Except for when my granddaughter sat on the tail, but that doesn't count.

A note on the boom. Put a few drops of debonder on it, let it sit for 15 minutes and it should pull right out. Sometimes it doesn't release the first time so do it again. It "will" release. Note: remove the TR wires before you put the debonder on. You can do the same thing on all ca'd parts. Although I recommend super skids to avoid the problem.

i replaced boom and frame and skids , put it all together without glue , and it stays together just fine because my cp has no vibrations

Not true. Ove the past few days I have eaten 2 main gears (shafts fine, pinon ate some teeth out after a crash, stock TX so no throttle hold), 1 spindle, 1 landing gear side, and 1 tail motor. All were on hand.

I also took out the tail gear (actually lost it) and one bearing.

Bad thing. This ALL happened with les than 1 pack of flying. Time t set up throttle hold. I am just starting flying witt Idle Up, and the hands aren't trained.

I burned a 3 and 1 cause i crashed into a tree and did not relize that I left throttle up,Cause the blades where not spinning do tp being jammed in the braches. MUST throttle down in a crash
