Since day one my Stratus got vibration problem. I got Vs 710mm and 105 for tail and 95mm for paddles. Until today i keep on trying to solve what cause the vibration, changing almost everything i can change and there is nothing to change.

Got onces my friend told me it could be my blades unbalance. Which i didnt believe. Because i believe V blades should be 100% balance when it come out of the factory.

Until today i took out my blades on bot them onto the balancer and notice that the baldes if off balances like 50gram - 80grams which i was shock.

There is no visible chips or crack.

So what could cause this OUT of balance on my blades ?

:arggg: :arggg: :arggg: :arggg:

If there is 50 to 80 grams difference between the blades. I would think the heli would be in pieces.

I am guessing you mean 5/10th to 8/10th gram difference. That is really not enough to cause a vibration that I have experienced.

Normally the V blades are within the above specs or less. If your not happy with your V blades. I would suggest contacting V blades. They will take care of any problems you have with them.

Yes I see your location is Singapore. Just email V blades thru there website and let them know about your problem.

But i am not sure what will they do as the blades is like 4 months old + ( coz i tried solving the problem but cant )

I dont have a camera to take a pict but this what i get when i bolted the blades together and put them on the balancer. ( the red is the floor, the red and yellow is the table, the green is the blades and the pink is the balancer )

But when i open my new 690Vs and put on the balancer i get, the blades are perfect.

Don't know what your using to check balance. V Blades uses a Koll Rotor Pro to check and adjust the balance of the blades thru out the whole building process. Vic has used the KRP ever since he got in the blade business back in the early 90's.

Don't know why you can't solve the problem. There is several methods that can be used to balance blades.
Tape, drilling the blades and installing lead or powdered brass where needed. Sanding some material from the blades where needed.

I have done all of the above with great success. It is simple and quick to accomplish with a Koll Rotor Pro and gram scale.

Ic, i am using dubro hi point balancer. Well not a very good rotor blade balancer but somehow it works i think ?

cool, maybe i should order that and try. Do u have a picture how the KRP balancer work ?

thanks

Instructions are included with the KRP.
You can check span wise C/G on each blade, chord wise C/G on each blade. And you can also compare the balance of the blades to each other.
I use the KRP to check span wise and chord wise C/G on each blade.
I use a gram scale to determine if the blades weigh exactly the same.

Kenny,

One thing you can also do, is get a small digital scale and weigh them. From time to time, a set of mismatched blades gets out of the shop. They are moving A TON of blades out of the shop every single day, and sometimes a set gets swapped by accident. If they are different weights, you know something is up, in that case email Vic and they will take care of you- no questions asked.

Hope you figure it out.

lol my drawing is so bad.

Btw, i bolted my 690Vs onto my Stratus today and it flew dam smooth no vibration. Means last time the vibration is cost by the unbalance 710Vs :bomb: Wasted all my money on changing main shaft and everything :arggg:

its a fair point always check the obvious b4 buying new bits.

yar . . . i didnt check my blades because i believe in V blades that their blades are 100% well balance when it is out of the factory.

Maybe i have learnn a lesson :glasses2:

I wouldn't call out of balanced V blades- obvious. Considering how many PERFECT sets of blades go out of the shop each day, that is a bold statement. It is hard to say- every mainshaft that leaves MA is dial indicated under one thousandth " and every set of blades that leaves the shop is perfectly balanced. If there is ever a vibration due to one of these circumstances, it is far from obvious what the problem is...

OK maybe check the easy things first would have been a better way of putting it.
