I just purchase a 14mz and it will not read the card. The compact flash card works fine on my pc so the Futaba card is ok.

When the 14 begins the start up process with the card installed, Japanese’s script in Windows format appears with a drop down screen.

There are also icons at the bottom that show the flash card with a line across it.

Without the card the radio is fine.

Has anyone ever heard of this before?

I hope this is just a software issue and can be resolved over the phone.

Did you buy the radio new? Maybe bad flash card (or formatted incorrectly)? What's in it? Find a local flyer with a 14MZ or hobby shop to test another card with.

Yes it is 2 days old.

I will try a new Futaba card

I had a similar problem with one of my 14's and it was the card -

I put it in my PC and erased all and then the 14 reformatted it fine.

New card arrived from Futaba and same window prompt was present.

Radio has been shipped back to the dealer with a new one on the way.

For what the radio cost, I was not going to send it in for repair.

Futaba stood behind their product without hesitation.
