Here is my latest setup.
Kontronik Kora 15-10 with Kovi's 19 T pinion
Kontronik Jazz 55-10-32 with the Medusa 3.5A 6V BEC
FlightPower Evo 20 5S 3700mah "NF"
Kovi's CNC main gear
Kovi's CNC washout base
Kovi's Bell-Hiller mod
Heliup Trex paddles with the weights on
MAH 425mm CF Main Blades
68mm CF tail blades from Readheli
All of MJP's upgrades minus their frame.
Raptor 30 Upgraded Boom Brace
Modified Eco 8 Landing Gear with CF Skids.
I am running a flat 70% and 75% on my idle ups and a flat 68% for normal mode.
This is the best motor /esc I have ever used. I can't say enough about the Kontronik Kora motor. It is just plain and simply amazing power wise and effeciency.

Hey eheliflyer what was your first setup, and what are the differences?

The only difference is that I switched the washout slider block and the esc and motor
CC HV-45
Hacker A30-8XL

The Schulze esc is awsome and the Kontronik Kora 15-10 is a monster of a motor it is also smaller and lighter than the Hacker motor. The Kontoronik has more torque which makes the heli seem like it weighs nothing. The Kora is the best motor I have tried hands down.

Where did you get the motor? I tried googeling it, and didn't get much. I am thinking of moving up to 5S and want to explore my options.

Unfortunately I couldn't find it in the US but this is where I bought it. I believe Corrado from Heliup is using the Kora 15-14 on 5S. I am able to run the 15-10 on 5S because I have the 19T pinion from Kovi.
I love his motor.:glasses:

what are your motor temps after flying? It looks like the kora has a built in fan...

I don't have a temp gun but the motor is warm to the touch after a flight.

Ok I had a few couple of flights this weekend and this heli feels like a 90 on speed.
This thing has crazy power way too much power for me but I love it. The Kora motor does not bog at all with hard collective moves. After about 6-7 of pretty hard flying all of the electronics are all warm to the touch and I am putting about 2900mah back into the packs. Now that Hirobo has lowered the price on their parts I can push it harder without the wallet pucker factor.
The New Formulation Flight Power packs put out some insane power.I love this combo
because I can use these packs in parallel later when I get my Razor.
I love My Lepton. :smokin: :smokin:

Yep same experience here :)
And in fact I increased my flight timer by 1 minute too!

Reason why is I went 3s in my trex450 and was pretty happy with the performace
until I saw my friends 4s setup and it was great

I just don't want to go 4s on the Lepton and want 5s later ,,, thats all

I will get the updated pic of my Lepton once I get a main gear. Long story.

Here is some updated pics of my Lepton.
Kontronik Jazz 55-10-32 with Medusa 3.5A 6V BEC
Kontronik Kora 15-10W with 19T pinion
FlightPower Evo 20 5S 3700mah "NF"
Modified Eco8 landing gear with CF Skids
This thing has crazy power. Way too much for me to handle but
damn it is just so much fun.
By the way ReadyHeli will be carrying the Kontronik Kora Motor line. John has them on order and should be there hopefully soon. The Kora motors are the best by far IMHO. :D
ReadyHeli Rocks. They seem to always get the hottest items in and sell them at killer prices, Thanks John and Jennifer! :D

hey looks awesome, what about this "Kovi's CNC main gear", does that replace the Delrin ?

eheliflyer
11-17-2006, 11:26 PM
I actually stripped the derilin main gear that I got from Kovi and I am trying to get another one from him but he is hard to get a hold of. I had too much backlash and it stripped when I gave it hard throttle. :arggg:

With the recent drop in parts prices why not just pick up one of the stock main gears?

eheliflyer
11-17-2006, 11:49 PM
I am using the stock main gears right now. I just like the CNC derlin main gear that Kovi makes. I am glad that Hirobo finally figured it out that their replacement parts were all overpriced. Now I can relax more when I fly since the parts are alot more reasonable.

what is the difference between the two, that you like it so much ?
