On a dare from Kovar I am making this post..... The difficulty that Kovar has connecting his lipo with a deans plug into his align starter caused me think that there has to be a better way. After looking at his starter I concluded that a PowerPole plug could be installed and would make hook up a lot easier. So I ordered a align starter of my own and set out on the conversion tonight.....
You can see in these first two pictures with the original Deans connector....

You can see in this picture ridges that were meant to hold the deans connector in place... just shave these ridges with a x-acto blade.
This will make room for the powerpole.

Just snip the two deans wires.... And connect your powerpoles....
and you should end up with this.....

and you can see from the final product that connecting the battery will be effortless..... One final mod is required..... The battery compartment door has a retention bump that will need to be shaved slightly to that it will fit between the powerpole and the starters outer case....

If you intend to do this to a new starter please test the starter prior to use to make sure it functions :arggg: and of course this will violate the warranty.....
