No, there are no issues with mounting it and the standard gear ratio will support it quite well. The primary problem I have seen with folks using the G26 is that it will develop a rather serious vibration at high rpm's. Its really too bad because from my experience with it, I believe the G26 is a better running motor overall than the G231.

If you search the online forums, you will find a number of threads that discuss this topic. To my knowledge, few people have had good success using the stock version of the motor. You may have better luck if someone has tried to balance it.

Do you know if the g260 is piston heavy or crank heavy?

if its piston heavy, a reed valve conversion and porting the piston may help...

hello

actually I have no idea how many issues there are with the G26. I do know that there are a number of aftermarket engine modifications available for the motor. Some of them lighten the piston, some change the crankshaft, different carburetors, engine seals, etc.

I don't have any direct experience with any of them so I do not have an opinion either way. I'm sure there are others at this forum who can comment.

Definitely piston heavy. Mine is glass smooth but I had to skirt and drill the piston and add weight to the counter lobes with a tungsten insert.

Sweet

Sounds like the Reed Conversion and porting the induction side of the piston could be a good move...

What about the Hanson Modified Pro-Heli engine? Any opinions on this in the Spectra??

its not been specifically tested, but you can change the gear ratios to support engine speeds up to 17K RPM's so it shouldn't be a problem

they will be available at any dealer that ordered them, or you can buy them off the website at full retail http://www.miniatureaircraftusa.com/helicopterkits/1025_Spectra_G/1025_kit_main.asp
remember, they won't ship to the dealers until next week so it'll be a few days before the dealers get them

I think everyone is going to be very impressed with the kits.

This is the first kit with the new t/r gearbox which if you've visited our sites t/r torture test page, you'll see its pretty tough

everything you need to plumb the fuel system is included and you can easily install two tanks if you want really long run times

you can install the motor facing forwards or backwards (your choice)

new design high temp material fan shroud for improved cooling and mounting.

the chassis is incredibly stiff and tough!!!

optional gear rations from 6.4:1 to 9.5:1

includes an operators guide that will get even a gasoline novice off to a good start

includes an RF shielding kit for high voltage lead (does not include resistor cap)

the website will eventually include assembly photos and videos to help assemble them (sorta hard to create these without an actual model)

EXtreme 3D rotor head is std equipment - kit can be special ordered with Tempest 3D or FAI heads

the most advanced gas powered helicopter available today!

I don't have a part number yet to post this on the website but take a look at the new fan shroud!!!

it hugs the cylinder very well and is made of a special high temp material. Simple to install or remove. For that matter the whole engine is simple to install or remove

That is badass! Do you have a picture of the Spectra-G retail box? I am excited to see it! This is my first MA heli so I am not familar their packaging. Hopefully it is colorful and cool looking.

It will be a white box with a label on end stating what the item is in the box. There will probably be colored printed label about 8 X 10 attached on top of the box. Same packaging MA has had for the last few years.
I get my kits in sacks, or box lids. They fly just as good as the ones that come in the plain white boxes

just go to www.miniatureaircraftusa.com and look for part #125-112 in the catalog

also there is a complete RF reduction kit on the front page of the site

it is not a requirement, just an option
