Default Best location for FL760 electronics and receiver

I figured I ask before I settled for the locations shown in the diagrams. On my Align 500, I have 3 places to mount electronics, above the front tail rotor assembly, the middle electronics tray and the space at the bottom of the frame. The gyro needs the area with the least vibration, the controller of the gyro needs either open access for the setup button and set screws or needs to be able to be removed easily (velcro?) for adjustment and the receiver I guess could go anywhere.

I was thinking then of placing the FL760 controller on top of the front tail rotor assembly, the gyro on the middle tray and the receiver on the bottom frame area. (there's also a small satellite receiver I need to locate too).

Anybody with a favorite layout they want to share?

Default Placing the FL760 Electorinics in the Align 500

So, here's how I did it. First I made a plastic tray with velcro to keep components tidy. After attaching the receiver and the FL760 controller to the tray, I slid the tray onto the bottom and secured the components to the floor with velcro. This holds down the wires too. I also included my wiring layout. I'm a big fan of braided cable covers to protect the delicate wires from sharp CF. I usually secure the cut end with a bit of masking tape. I haven't tried the kind that won't fray after cutting.

I put the controller on the right side of the frame where I have easy access for set-up and adjustments. I started out with the sensor on top of the boom block, seems the sensor is quite sensitive and I was having vibration related issues so I moved it down to the bottom tray. My Rx tray is somewhat warped so its not a good candidate for the sensor and my Rx is already using up that real estate anyway.

Very nice install, wish mine looked that good. One thing I noticed in the last pic is the servo arms have the ball located at the far end(19mm), Not sure if you have completely finished your install in that pic but the manual asks for the ball to be moved in to 13mm. Just wanted to point it out in the event you overlooked it in the manual as I did.

Now that's attention to detail? Wow.

Assuming that I won't be the last to make this mistake, I included a scan of the 500 ESP(pg 17) and FL 760(pg 5) manuals. Notice how on the Flybarless version the linkage ball is placed differently than on the Flybar version. Thanks!

And that would explain why I needed to dial the swash % percent all the way down to 40 instead of 55! Duh.

Thanks, it was a pleasure to build. I wish I could fly too.

Should be:

"Now that's attention to detail! Wow."

Ooops.
