Definately not stock.

Brushless on both Tail and Main motor and Head Lock Gyro. Wonder if it's a stock plastic head or upgraded to metal. Definately a good pilot, too bad the video was so poorly lit.

Cheers!

HeliDan,

If you refering to my previous post that I feel my CP is a waste of money, it's true. To get the Stock CP to fly like the video it would take at least the upgrades that would bring it to the level of a CP Pro.

My opinion is strictly that the Regular stock CP is a bad "middle of the road" between the cx and the Pro and shouldn't be sold as it only leaves people like myself upset to have to spend all the extra $ to ge to the Pro level. Now if the pro was like $279-289 then I think it would be a good middle of the road heli.

Dude, I'm with ya, the pro is better, I just hear all these people saying that they cant fly them. It is because they either dont know how, or they fly bigger helis and figure that the little ones should be easier!

I find that funny!

Yeah, the only reason I bought the CP was cause everyone said "If you can fly this, you can fly anything!" I took it as a challenge. And while I have hovered the battery all the way through a few times. Many more times has the wind or the twitchy tail (mostly when I try to move out of hover) caused me too crash.

Once I get my HH on the BCP, I expect I'll be able to enjoy some FF and figure 8's with it and eventually I hope to fly it anytime the winds are below 10 and I have 30 minutes to kill.

In the meantime I have borrowed my "uncle-in-law's"(?is that such a title) JR Venture 30 and I can fly it quite well. In fact I plan to remove the training gear next time I fly which will only be the 4th time out to the field with it. FF and figure 8's are quite comfortable for me on the bigger heli. I may even start working on Nose-in soon.

Jev:

It's called marketing dude. If you bought a 4 cylinder econobox, and then decide you want to go rallying, your gonna have to get a new ride.

The CP is a fine heli, for what it is. It's not designed to be upgraded. Enjoy it for what it is. Get up to speed. Keep it in good shape. When you are ready to move up to a CP Pro or a REX, sell it for 50cents on the dollar to the next guy who needs a break, and smile. It got you down the road a little further.

The Blade CP flies fine, is durable and cheap and easy to fix. If you could do it over, the CP Pro is a better "buy", but that's spilt milk. The fact is, even the Pro can get costly real quick, and if you put on all the upgrades, there's not much left of the original.

Sometimes it's better to run a cheap car fast, then a fast car slow or wrecked. Get yourself the Aerobatic kit when your ready and a good lipo and charger. You'll be hard pressed to tell the difference between the CP and the Pro at that level. And do your homework before you talk to a salesman ANYWHERE.

In the mean time, go have fun.

Cheers!
Lee

For those of us who bought original CP's before the Pro emerged. If you could get it to fly stock, you were really good. After many mods, my blade flies great. I can actuall fly the stock one now, but glad I don't have to. Now that the Pro is out, I recommend it to everybody. one thing that truly seems to have been improved is the gyro built into the 3-in-1 compared to the 4-in-1 in the CP. Except for having DD tail and still using the 4-in-1, my blade would be considered a pro now. Wish I could just throw on my HH gyro like the pro.

Hi all, I am in need of some simple help...or so I think.
I just got a Blade CP from a friend. I tried connecting the wires back to the 4 in 1 controller after I had to change the one he was using for Li-Polys back to the original.
When I connected the controlled according to the manual, all I get is some shaking of the controls, but no controls are working as the manual says they should.
Which servo connections go to which channel on the 4 in 1?
Could the twitching servos be from a dead, or very low, battery? It is brand new, and never was charged. I tried working off the info from the manual that batteries come from the factory with some charge and to use them rill they are drained before charging.
Thank you!

Front right- goes to (2)
Right rear- goes to (1)
Left rear- goes to (6)

Try this order and report back.

I wonder if the guy is using a high authority DC motor on the tail , its direct drive definatly but I doubt its Brushless on the tail

Biggame,
Thank you. I had it right, but the problem ended up being a Hitec servo at the right rear instead of a eflite. Thanks to Chuck at the LHS, he spotted it right away. Not only did he help getting it replaced, he took the time to set it up and trim it also.
So, just got the battery charged, and getting ready to give it a whirl!
I'll let you know!
Thanks again!

Hey Guys,

That pilot is none other than the young Nick Maxwell. The video was posted by himself overon Rcgroups. As far as I'm concerned that kid is a heli god! He had a video a while ago with a stock cp and the only upgrade was the aerobatic kit--no bell hiller or anything----needless to say it was disgustingly awesome!

Its a GWS motor from a ducted fan setup. I just installed the same one on my brushless Blade and it works great so far (only about 10 flights). Its a brushed motor using the stock 3 in 1's ESC. I have had nothing but tail issues since going brushless, but this fixed it.... if it lasts :D

It's probably the F50H motor then. I use this motor on my DD setup as well. I've burned up 2 of them in the last 6 months using GWS 4530 props. If I cut the props down 3/4" (3/8" off each end) the motors last a LOT longer and don't get nearly as hot as they did with the longer prop.

Yes that is Nick Maxwell with a stock cp pro with a gyro. Last years video was way more impressive in my opinion, with the stock cp, AEK kit, and lipos... He stuck it to the ceiling in the garage after flying like a wildman in the yard....... His posts are on rc universe. I chatted with him on RR also...

Ummm... that CP Pro is not just stock with a gyro. It is running a Brushless Main, Direct drive GWS tail, 12Z radio, V-blades and bearings for dampers in the head. He listed his setup here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=580952&pp=15

That is a very impressive video for a Blade... but definately upgraded well beyond a stock Blade Pro

I'm sorry, I thought the stock pro was brushless to start with.. It is a great setup he runs if it can fly like that ....
