Is it true that the 5014 receiver will not work with an external BEC?
I just got a 12z, now I am told I have to change all my electric helis to use a receiver pack.

I am using a 5014 on a stock Trex 600 using the included BEC and 2S1P LiPo that is included with the Kit...no problems at all...I am sure there are a lot of others running an External BEC just fine...

Same here.... Using one on a Trex600 with the Align BEC and on my Lepton with the Medusa BEC... No problems!

me too, trex600, BEC is just providing regulated power to the receiver.

Using the Fromeco 15amp, CC25,45,60 speed controllers with BEC and Medusalabs 2.5 and 3.5amp versions, no problems. 8+hrs flight time so far on new radio setup.
