Went out today with 4 packs and my rex and here is what I got, PLUS the 2 bonus ground photos I think look amazing!
These are my first semi real photos as my amateur career begins
First is to show how high I was, I think the sun glare blurred out the photo
and the last 2 were my bonus shots.

I think you've got some very good shots there Cryo! For some reason that second pic seems to be my favorite. Crop out a little more sky and it's made! Looks like you're on your way...
Oh... and the grass shot was very nice!

gotta be careful with the golf courses.
I'm probably the only person in the world to be banned from the Augusta National for bustin' off a flight on the 4th fairway.. :twisted:

hehe, I got a complaint from people here at Morgan Run Country Club 'cuz I was buzzin' around my sister's house in an R22 about a year ago. I guess the old blue-hairs and golf weenies didn't like the distraction.
I can't wait for the complaints when I set down in her yard - and one day I will. :)

Cryo,
Nice shots! I'm with Wes, #2 is my favorite. The sky looks overexposed in the 1st shot - unfortunately once a shot is overexposed not even photoshop can fix it, so I often try to err on the underexposed side (ground based and riding in the airplane shots, haven't hung a camera on my Trex yet).
So how high do you reckon you get your Trex? Some of those shots look pretty high. Do you have trouble staying oriented with it that high/small? Are you using a stabilizer? And just to clarify, this was the 450, not the 600, yes?
Cheers,
Mark
well - first of all Cryo: GOOD JOB!!!
a little Photoshop time will go a long way to make your images not as hazy and a bit more crisp. unfortunately the hosting site compressed this image (hence the banding in the sky - the web doesn't like gradient skies very well) but if you click on it - you will see a 3-step flash movie that shows the difference between the original and this version.

same with this one. a few masks and adjustments and an otherwise dark image brightens up a bit. if you don't have Photoshop - i would recommend getting it since you are going to be out selling your photos. (click photo for flash slideshow). now that i look at it - i liked my step 2 and shoulda just replaced the sky on that one. final might be a little much.

all in all i gotta say that these are MOST IMPRESSIVE from a Rexy. I have one myself and can imagine how hard it can be to get a good and level shot. grab Photoshop and brush up on some skillz and you will be a force to be reckoned with :)

Great shots Cryo, you'll be making sales before too long. In the 2nd shot, I really like the way the haze creates 3 dimensionality and makes the hill really stand out against the background. The blown out skies can be a challenge. A lens hood will help somewhat, but here is where shooting in RAW format (if your camera supports it) really helps in adjusting exposures post process. But even with RAW, if it is too overexposed, you still just get white. In that case, if you have photoshop, you can simply replace the white sky with a properly exposed one from another image (hopefully from the same session to make it believable.)
Good job!

Hyde,
What curves did oyu adjust becasue I converted to lab and adjusted the a and b channels before posting them, i didnt touch the lightness channel becasue I always blow the pic out of proportion with it.
ok, in Photoshop CS2 i used:
RGB -> LAB
'Curves': A = in 90 / out 100
'Curves': B = in 10 / out 0
DO NOT use LAB's 'Lightness' setting...
'Shadow & Highlight': 30% (ish) on Shadow only. Highlight is 0.
'Smart Sharpen': 30%
LAB -> RGB
---
creating skies and other things involve masks and gradients and blah blah blah. these were the curves that you asked for though. again - they were good to begin with. and i am glad you used some LAB correction - just make sure that the corrections are SYMMETRICAL.

Thanks!
I havent used the shadow and highlight or the sharpen and I never converted it back to RGB, to make a picture look good in photoshop its almost silly quick once you know what your doing.
LAB along with Shadow and Highlight is your secret weapon ;)

Just so you know these pics are from a Casio Exilim Z850 8.1 MP with continous shot on, I have a trigger for the shutter servo now but i just jam it down and let it take pics, I collected 1.5 gig of pics the other day and these turned out to be the cream of the crop.
The camera is awsome, it will do 1 pic a second on normal continous, and 3 pics a second on high speed cont.
