I wanted to know how do you tell if your Tail Rotor is set up correctly. Say your T-Rex is facing you vertical stabalizer nearest your body. I don't have my main gear on so I'm not sure if my tail rotor is correct or not. If I spin the Auto Rotation gear to my right the rotor goes counter clockwise and vice versa. Did I set it up correctly, I did rotate the belt 90 degrees as stated on the instructions.

On the T-Rex the main blades should spin clockwise when looking down on them from above.

On all helis (I think) the front of the tail rotor moves up into the downwash of the main blades.

Does anyone else have any input on this problem,

Sounds like you have it correct. I posted this same question last week. Imagine that you let your tail rotor touch the ground and hit some dirt. It should kick the dirt forward toward the front of your heli. The tail blade behind the boom is moving down and the tail blade in front of the gear box is moving up. Near the very end of my manual they show arrows with the correct rotation. I missed that on my manual the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Xn times I looked at it.

Still curious as to what happens if you have it backwards. :dontknow I hovered a little in my garage with mine backwards and it seems to do okay. Then I realized it was backwards and corrected the twist in the belt.

Does anyone else have any input on this problem,

Is it that you don't understand what I posted, or you just don't believe me?

Not all helis tail rotors move up and into the rotor wash however most of them do, with our models its not a big deal but yes, clock wise main rotor on the trex, counter clockwise tail rotor.

OK, so I have to ask. Am I just being way too thin skinned, or should I be offended by this exchange?

Microman asks a question. Two minutes later I answer it. His response:

"Does anyone else have any input on this problem,"

Not "Thanks", not "please explain". Just "next".

When I ask whether he didn't understand or didn't believe me I get:

"Maybe I didnt understand what you posted, but PilotSmith answered the question."

"Maybe"? What's this? Is he not sure if he understood?

"But PilotSmith answered the question". And I didn't?

So in all seriousness, am I just being way too sensitive? This is the sort of thing that makes me wonder why we get on here and answer questions. I mean 99% of the folks are grateful. But occassionally we get someone that thinks they're calling customer service, and are owed a quick and accurate answer.

I didn't mean this to come out they way it sounded, I'm a noob to helicopters so your explanation "On the T-Rex the main blades should spin clockwise when looking down on them from above. On all helis (I think) the front of the tail rotor moves up into the downwash of the main blades." I didn't understand your explination and you asked me if I understood or not, I responded I didn't.

I wanted a better explanation and thats what I got. This whole production is very unnecessary and unwarrented. You were under no obligation to replyy to my post as quick as you did, you could have posted a video and that would have been good enough as well.

Even I as a newcomer to HeliFreaks have answered questions, I didn't assume the person asking the question knew what I was talking about so I put in an easy to understand format that a lay person could understand.

As far as being OWED a quick answer, I had no such expectations. Thanks for your quick response and believe it or not not everyone know what backwash is.

I apologize if offend you as that was not my intention all I wanted was a question answered.

I think you're taking this way to serious, its a hobby not a job.
