I have a stinger Gohbee 50 and it wants to yo-yo all the time.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Hi Ssrobzoom,

What do you mean by "yo-yo"?

TAIL BOBBING UP AND DOWN???? :dontknow

I found that replace the main (oneway) clutch resolve this issue. Also can change/verify: rear bearing (excess play), tail blades, repair excess play in the rear blade grips, rear shaft and belt.

good luck my friend,

What I am talking about is:

You can be in a stable hover with no wind and all of a sudden the heli just looses altitude for no apparent reason. Then you give it throttle/collective to get back in the same attitude stable hover then it happens again. This is what is called the yo-yo affect.

Once in a hover on a calm day it should stay their until a gust of wind changes things.

Hi Ssrobzoom,

No, my Stinger doesn't do that. Sounds like there's something amiss with your collective system. Check the following:

1. Collective servo - make sure there's no looseness in the arm, and that the servo works properly.
2. Check that the links work smoothly and that the entire collective mechanism moves smoothly up and down.
3. Check that the links are not too loose and that there's not any slop that allows the blade grips to wiggle within the links.

Good luck,

Ashley

It does not take much of a gust to move a heli up and down.
A change in the wind of just 1-2 MPH will do it. I have even seen helies react to thermals.
All helies show some of this.
When yours drops do you notice any change in the headspeed or the sound of the heli?
