The first one I saw was a "prototype" from Tom Fiddler. It was a nice flying ship - no difference for what I saw to a glow. Nice speed.

He can give you a better view - don't know if this is his creation or he was doing R&D for Century. He is a fellow Century Rep.

Good Luck.

Not any more- I am pretty sure Tom resigned as a rep yesterday.

Come on over to the light side Tom. :D

Yes Eddie I did resign from my position as a Century rep.
No hard feelings, I just didn't want my hobby to become a job.

As far as the Predator gasser I have talked to a few people who have theirs flying and they really like it.
I built mine from scratch and and was not involved with century when I did.
Time will tell how the Predator holds up but I feel they has a good bird here
I loved mine but have moved on to an E-Raven conversion (Even cleaner than the Gasser)

A steam powered heli may be my next project
:D

Payton,
Good to see you.
So... you did get the gasser finished? Honest question; Is a gasser equally responsive in 3D as a Glow. I have never had that question clarifed for me... Of course I dont believe Ive ever realy asked either

Tom,
Sorry things didnt work out with Century... I think we should all chip in and Buy Century and make it(as a company) as good as it could be... I think its being held back.
Anyhow... I saw the ERaven Video... N-I-C-E. You were tearing it up.
Let me know when you start on the Cold Fusion heli... I might be interested in one of those. :P

Bart,
What's up old buddy! I'm so glad to still see you around......

Is a gasser equally responsive in 3D as a Glow.
Well, the answer is rather vague. It really depends on the design, engine, and setup. To be specific if the design is not conducive to 3D(ie it's heavy, sloppy/weak control system, poor rotorhead configuration) then it won't do it well. I have seen Malorie fly the Bergen and she makes it look nice!

I can tell you this though....the Predator's eCCPM 120 push/pull control system is tops IMHO for the 3D pilot. Then, when you consider the old Heim style rotorhead that uses a Bell mixer on the point of pivot(the rotor blade grip itself) it is very agile yet STABLE! That is why flutter has never been an issue with Century, MA, Bergen etc.... They all use the Heim style head. So, if you consider that this is the only gas heli that uses these two designs(120 push/pull eCCPM and Heim style head) it's definetly CAPABLE of being 3D'd to death. All that this leaves is whether or not today's gas engines can perform.

The latest PUH designs(231/260) have the power! I have the 231 and with the Century Speed Torpedo(Gas) I am pulling almost 11 degrees of pitch on an unbroken in engine. I've got 7 degrees of cyclic added to that with the Predators head set at the full blown 3D settings and the grey 3D paddles. It ROCKS! And I mean really rocks and rolls just like a Predator SE with an OS .70 in it. It really flys light and autos well beyond a most gas heli's abilities.

So, my honest to God truth on the matter so far is that this offering Century is no doubt it's very best so far. I don't think I will be getting another glow Predator. If they can get a CF frame version out(in the works) and the 260 issues settled with Zenoah then it will be big time for the Gas heli market. As it stands I sold my Max to get this machine and I don't doubt it one single bit!

Sweet...sounds good.
Thanks for the info. Of course...with the gas prices on the rise...It may soon be cheaper to fly glow.

a Nice Ship. The engine/muffler combination works well with the heli.

BTW, that isn't photoshop editing........that was a HIGH shot on his gasser.

Wow,
Very impresive kit. The quality at that price is also impresive. The instructions are very good and it went together quickly step by step no backtracking.

Man it is light for a gasser. Waiting on my servos to arrive.
Yipee

Bart......you ought to smell it burning in a 231 with a "touch" of Amsoil......

heck, I stand downwind just to SMELL it...like potpourri......

My glow Max is gonna have a LONG summer......sitting on that shelf

Well, after lurking in the shadows on this forum as a guest for a while, I decided to go ahead and join in on the fun :) I got one of the new p-gasers for myself and a 70 se for christmas...some present! So far I'm very impressed with the both of them. I'm using the gasser.. standard version with a few upgrades like the new 710 c/f yellow blades, metal blade grips ,elevateor linkage uprgade..and the alum servo arms, as a camera ship. The camera mount's my own design, but it works great! The Se i'm just gonna fly the guts out of , or mabey someday shoehorn it into a body, but since it's only had a couple flights and I'm still breaking in the tt 70, that mat be a while...Overall, I'm very pleased with them both.. Here's the gasser on it's camera mount. I'm runing it on ozark fuel ..love it, especially the fact i can bring it in the house and not stink the place up like a tool shed :)

just a currious question, and one i felt needed to be asked. Has anyone had any rf problems with their helis from the ignition system? Iwas reading some of the other posts in here and felt it was worth asking. so far so good with mine, but I'm gonna get one of those little ac meters and see what its doing..pcm is amazing, but it can only handle so much...

i got one of those little checkers and ran it over mine once. I got it to pick up some around the spark plug lead and the cap, but I didn't do anything about it. So far not a problem, and it's going on gallon #4 and the g26 is still runing strong.
