Looking at airbrushing some canopies over the winter. Looking for some general airbrushing info. Where do you guys buy your paint from. What type, what clear coates, primers, adhesion promotors. Any info you could give on paint and techniques would be excellent.

Auto paint store is the best place. Sometimes you can pick up some great deals on paint that they have mixed wrong. For example, there is several shades of white.
Can get mis matched paint for about half the price .
If you want HOK paint, there is also several places on line that sell it in small quanities. From about 4 ozs up to 32 ozs.
John Kosmoski is a master. Lots of good information here.
Here is one place that sells HOK in small quanities.

You can get HOK paint at www.coastairbrush.com. They sell it in 4oz quantites.
I had a post on RR that has some good info about clearing and such - good tips from Dave Yost also...
If you want more info, feel free to PM me.

Thanks Dave and Angelo,
Good information here thanks,
What kind of local stores could you get auto paint mixed at? I know there used to be a DuPont paint place around here that closed. Any chain stores you can get cans of auto paint mixed up?

One of the local Napa stores here sells limited stock of PPG paint, typically OEM colors that would be used to touching up your car's paint.
Call your local body shop and see if they've got any "leftovers" they're looking to get rid of and ask where they purchase their paint..

That was a great thread... Sounds like my clear technique needs to be "altered" a bit... Now excuse me while I chuck out all my airbrush paints and load up my Visa card with some House of Kolor 4oz'ers...
